Remote Control Joysticks for 2600

Recommended Posts

There's a similar thread in the "wanted" section that you might check out. The going price is around $20 -ish for a set. They're not actually IR, but radio controlled, so your mileage will vary as to how they work. Mine work well even in a big city.

EDIT: As for rarity, they're just rare enough to be extremely difficult to find in the wild. Finding them online isn't too hard, though.

I can take mine about anywhere in the house and they work. I got really bored and tied it.

I have a set of 3rd party RF controllers for the 2600. They work at 20+ feet from my TV with the receiver sitting on the floor. I haven't seen too many of these floating around, but stumbled across a CIB set a while back at a reasonable price. These have a much smaller base than the Atari ones.

I guess I'm not really saying anything here other than there is an alternative to the Atari branded wireless controllers that you might keep an eye out for.
