MFoolsRun #1 Posted February 23, 2008 (edited) I search local craigslist for "atari", "sega", "nintendo", etc. every once in a while and frequently about a third of the results are "items wanted: Old Videogames" and the like --I'm wondering if anyone knows if this approach to acquiring games works? Does placing want-ads for nes games actually illicit people wanting to sell you them? Edited February 23, 2008 by MFoolsRun
BigO #2 Posted February 23, 2008 It never has enticed me to find out what they would pay for my duplicates and pile of spare consoles. In general, I assume they'll want to pay pennies even if they stumble onto a rare one. Personally, I'm more inclined to give my stuff away than sell to somebody who posts such an ad. Maybe I'm too cynical.
S1500 #3 Posted February 24, 2008 I sold an iPod for $25 OVER asking price. I sold an Amiga. I am quite happy with selling stuff on Craiglist. Women seeking men ads? no.
SRGilbert #4 Posted February 24, 2008 I've sold several things on Craigslist including game stuff. I have found that most of my wanted requests go unanswered however. If they do get answered, it's with something I wasn't asking for.
Rick Weis #5 Posted February 25, 2008 i know a couple of people that place wanted ads on CL, and it does work well for them, guess it depends on the city that you live in on how well it will work for you. good luck! Rick

Rick Hey I know that guy too! I ran an ad a couple of years ago and got a few things but my problem was other people copying my ad. It happened several times and not just with videogame stuff. y-bot
darthkur #7 Posted February 26, 2008 The thing I've noticed about Craigslist is that there seems to be far too few bargains, with the vast majority of sellers on there expecting Ebay prices for everything.

I got Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess for the Wii for $25 on Craigslist. I've had some good luck, and bad, like everything else. I also got my X-Box display kiosk for $100 on craigslist....pretty cool.
