Was Asterix released NTSC?

Recommended Posts

The 2 Asterix that guy had were PAL, you are thinking of the 5 or so Obelix's.

Asterix...Obelix...Obelix...Asterix...do all those French look the same?

Sorry, I must've been trippin' balls. post-5874-1204161040.gif

And, yes, a NTSC Asterix is A LOT HARDER to find than a NTSC Obelix....in fact, there are only like 10 or so copies of complete Asterixs in the world.

While a CIB NTSC Asterix is indeed a rare creature, there are more than 10. In 2006, a seller on eBay (user id: brokenarrowleather) had a small supply of these that he was slowly putting up for sale (he also had some PAL copies, too - that little "N" sticker suddenly became amazingly important). They were fairly expensive, but nothing shockingly so - I think that's because they were undervalued and the bidding reflected that. Of course, there was the discovery of a batch of these several years before that. You can search on AA and you'll most likely turn up something (I'd do it for you, but I'm headed out the door.)

Are you certain? I watched his auctions but I seem to recall the Asterix's were sealed without the sticker, are you thinking of Obelix? He was selling both games and I thought only Obelix were NTSC. Can anyone confirm this? Did you pick up one Zwackery? I think Noel bid on some of his auctions too? I never saw any NTSC Asterix from that seller.

It is PAL. All the Asterix from brokenleatherarrow were PAL.
