I added videos of the classic game shows Jeopardy! and Family Feud. Tony Montana #2 Posted March 1, 2008 (edited) Pretty cool man ! I know absolutely nothing about the Adam and it's nice to see it in action. I only got my 1st ever Colecovision a couple of weeks ago, so i am keen to learn as much as possible at the moment. Can i ask, what control method are you using when you play the games on the Adam ? Colecovision controller, Keyboard ? Anyway, thanks for the vids, hope to see more soon ! EDIT: just noticed you are playing the games on an emulator, so i guess my question about control methods doesn't count now lol Edited March 1, 2008 by Tony Montana
Gregory DG #3 Posted March 1, 2008 What was the difference between the Donkey Kong Supers and the regular versions?
Inky #4 Posted March 1, 2008 What was the difference between the Donkey Kong Supers and the regular versions? You mean between the CV DK's and the ADAM ones? Other than the "hall of fame" screens, the ADAM ones had all 4 arcade screens and intermissions. There is the DK Jr. proto floating out there (which is in one of the above vids) that have a 5th screen
telengard #5 Posted March 1, 2008 Awesome vids, thanks for sharing. The sound of that printer almost brought a tear to my eye. The Adam is the only classic computer I would like in my collection and I do not have yet. I have that exact same TV in my computer setup also. Works great. ~telengard (who is now thinking about sounds that are lost to history... modem handshake, old printers, phones, etc)
Vic George 2K3 #6 Posted March 1, 2008 I used to own Dragon's Lair for the Adam. I basically played it to death. I thought it was the best conversion of the game at that point, given its particular limitations.
Pixelboy #7 Posted March 1, 2008 I had actually forgotten what the Giddygoons level looked like in Dragon's Lair. I could recall each level except that one. Thanks for the vids!
jboypacman #8 Posted March 1, 2008 Sweet! I never got to see any Coleco Adam games in action before thanks for the links.
NightSprinter #9 Posted March 1, 2008 These truly live up to their title of "Super Game". Makes one wonder why these versions of DK/DKJr didn't get released instead.
Inky #10 Posted March 1, 2008 The ADAM had some great software for it, no doubt. I still remember mine fondly. Now it sits in the corner, not working, and most of the tapes unusable anyway
DracIsBack #11 Posted March 1, 2008 Wow - Dragon's Lair was significantly better than I thought it would be!
NightSprinter #12 Posted March 3, 2008 Wow - Dragon's Lair was significantly better than I thought it would be! Turns out it's the same version as the one on the C64.
dr. kwack #13 Posted March 23, 2008 Yes- DL on the 64 is the same setup and slightly better graphics (at least scenery), but the ADAM version is much better to play- smoother on the controls, and gives you a new room after two tries.
Vic George 2K3 #14 Posted March 23, 2008 I could only wonder at this point what a Super Game version of Smurf Rescue In Gargamel's Castle (originally intended for the Super Game Module) would have looked and played like.
doubledown #15 Posted March 24, 2008 I recently got a couple Adams and some games and I can definately say that the Super Pak games are awesome. Donkey Kong Junior with all 4 screens, intermissions, and high score save capability is fantastic. Super Pak Zaxxon is also a lot better than the Coleco cartridge version as well. doubledown #17 Posted September 19, 2008 I recently got a sealed/new Family Feud for my ADAM. Of course it's been opened and played with since, but it's exactly as the version I had for my Tandy 1000EX if I remember correctly. I even had a question the other day that I rememberd from way back in the day about what colors are present in fire. I remember as a kid that I couldn't come up with blue, but sure enough there it was at number 4 just as I remembered.
Inky #18 Posted September 20, 2008 Jeopardy has an Easter Egg which brings up a set of questions about the programmers. Too bad Jeopardy was never officially released. IT was a great game. There were third party question packs for it, as well as a question editor
newcoleco #19 Posted September 20, 2008 Hello, I did saw your video on Youtube. Do you have some more games to show like the game with a ball named diablo, or one of the super games I didn't see yet?
OldSchoolRetroGamer #20 Posted September 20, 2008 Thank you! Great videos, I am interested in any Colecovision related hardware.
ed1475 #21 Posted September 20, 2008 Hello, I did saw your video on Youtube. Do you have some more games to show like the game with a ball named diablo, or one of the super games I didn't see yet? I dont have the diablo one. The Sub Roc super game is the only one I have that I haven't done a video of yet. I'll be getting a video of that one on Youtube soon. mos6507 #22 Posted September 21, 2008 I used to own Dragon's Lair for the Adam. I basically played it to death. I thought it was the best conversion of the game at that point, given its particular limitations. Perhaps better considering it was more interactive than any laser game could be. evilgonzo #23 Posted September 22, 2008 I've recently been playing 2010 The Ultimate Text Adventure on a Coleco Adam emu ... and man .. I really do dig it. I already play the graphic adventure on my coleco .. and love it as well. Gets to take me a step further into the the odyssey series. So if any of you are into the cool sci-fi stuff .. give it a whirl .. you may just enjoy as much as I.
newcoleco #24 Posted October 20, 2008 I did enjoy greatly your recent videos on Youtube, specially those showing the difference between the ColecoVision and Coleco Adam versions of the same games. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
