S1500 #1 Posted March 14, 2008 I finally took it out of my box(haven't touched it since the hotel room just to test it out), and finally stood up(can't sit down) to play the built-in games. Wow are they horrible. I played the "baseball" game. 99% of the time you either get a strike or a pop fly. 99% of the bleepin time! You almost never score a single, double, etc. You can tell a LOT of corners were cut in the game. I never once saw a ball(yet the GUI has it), nor bunting. You hit a ball in a certain direction, but you always see the same animation where it lands near a shortstop, and you get an out, even though it wasn't a pop fly. Games are only 3 innings. You could probably pitch a no-hitter. It seems a bit off-sync with you and the batter. Makes a nice cracking sound though when you do hit the ball. The CPU pitcher always throws curveballs, just as badly as the NES BaseBall(which I played the previous day). The other games are meh at most. It was frustrating on the "feed the seals" game, where you have to tilt to move left-right, but do some weird throw & button presss to toss fish at them. Oh well. I bought it moreso for nostalgic reasons. A pink Wii knockoff with no sensor bar(thus, no mouse-like movement) is moreso a conversation piece than a fun game console. I wonder when ever the not-so-conveniently mounted joystick port ever gets used. I wonder if my "Tv console" Famiclone gamepad will work with it, for the cartridge games. I have a feeling we'll never see any more cartridges released for it. If anyone hacks one of these things, I'd love to see some portin'.
