Picked up my first 2600

Recommended Posts

I was the one whose 7800 seemed to die about a week back so I checked out the record/old game store the other day and found the all black model for 25 bucks. I really wanted a 6 switch but without using the internet to find one, I can't complain. It was pretty dirty but after cleaning it all out, it works like a charm. I'm not sure if 25 bucks was a good deal but I couldn't pass it up.

My buddy also picked up a 4 port 5200 from there for 45 bucks that works great too. No faulty switchbox and even the controllers work decently. I am a Qix addict.

Congratulations!

As long as you're happy with what you paid, who's to say it was a bad deal?

In my opinion, a working 2600A is worth paying $25. Once you include shipping, I don't think you'd get it for too much less than that online.

Have fun! :)

I had a Vader unit once (the all-black ones, they're called that by some) and honestly it was the best working one I've had. I have a 4-switch woody now, and it works okay. And $25 is a good price, wish I could find them here that price! Or at all. :) Score for you!

$25 isn't that bad. Like was said earlier, when you add shipping in, you can't get one online for less than $25. I saw a 7800 at the flea market for $30 and couldn't decide whether or not to snatch it up. That guy is always there, so I can think about it before going back tomorrow. Hell, I could probably even dicker down to $25. :)
