awhite2600 #1 Posted March 22, 2008 (edited) I picked up two cartridges at a flea market today. I'm located in Canada. The carts are labled in an Asian language. Both carts have the same front label, but the backs and ends are different. As you can see in the pics, the carts are slightly bigger than a 2600 cartridge. The edge connector is wider than a 2600 cart. Does anyone know what system these are for? Thanks. Edited March 23, 2008 by awhite2600
snorlaxnut #2 Posted March 23, 2008 I think they are for the Sega Mark III (Japanese version of Sega Master System).

y-bot #4 Posted March 23, 2008 They definitely look like SG-1000/MK III games but I've never seen any with a yellow case like that. y-bot
awhite2600 #5 Posted March 23, 2008 Hmmm... Thanks for the info. So I wonder if they will work on a North American Sega Master System or Genesis with a Converter.
awhite2600 #6 Posted March 23, 2008 I did some research and I guess the SG-1000/Mark III is different enough from the SMS that the games are incompatible. The MKIII has an extra sound chip and uses carts with a different pinout. y-bot claims to have never encountered games like this in yellow shells. Could these be pirate carts or something rare? y-bot #7 Posted March 24, 2008 I looked at some lists of games and didn't see anything with part numbers like that. Maybe try emailing someone at smspower.com or some other Sega fansite. y-bot
smspower #8 Posted July 5, 2008 Based on the pinouts, and pins B21/B22 being grounded I would say they could be unlicensed SG-1000 cartridges.
