Lauren Tyler #1 Posted March 23, 2008 I've read in numerous locations that it's possible to play Famicom games on the FC Game Console (by Yobo?) But I tried inserting my game into the slot and it wouldn't fit. Is there something I'm doing wrong here? (And no insults or remarks about owning an FC Game Console!) DragonmasterDan #2 Posted March 23, 2008 I've read in numerous locations that it's possible to play Famicom games on the FC Game Console (by Yobo?) But I tried inserting my game into the slot and it wouldn't fit. Is there something I'm doing wrong here? (And no insults or remarks about owning an FC Game Console!) Is it an actual FC Game Console? The standard one should be a famiclone and they are usually packaged with an NES convertor in the US. Is this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:FC_Game_Console.jpg what your system looks like? There are newer US only FC/Neo Fami's that have a US NES only slot and do not play Famicom games natively.
Lauren Tyler #3 Posted March 24, 2008 Mine didn't come with a convertor. Do you know which NES games, besides the R.O.B. games, had built in Famicom-to-NES convertors?
Ace_1 #4 Posted March 24, 2008 Excitebike does. When I opened my cartridge there was a converter in it. I was pleased, since I have 2 Japanese Family Computer games and both of which I need to play.
Lauren Tyler #5 Posted March 24, 2008 OK, so I should try looking for Excitebike. Any other candidates? Also, what kind of screwdriver do I need to open the cartridge?
Ace_1 #6 Posted March 24, 2008 All early cartridges have small flat-head screwdrivers holding them shut. Little tip: if the cartridge has 5 screws, there's a chance that there's a converter in there. If it has 3, it's a normal US board.
Lauren Tyler #7 Posted March 24, 2008 Worth noting.
guitarmas #8 Posted March 25, 2008 Gyromite also has the converter.
Lauren Tyler #9 Posted April 6, 2008 Does anyone know if Pro Wrestling might have it?
