Battlezone
Doom, R-Type, and Moon Patrol I think are great suggestions. I really like the idea of a Wolfenstein 3D port..that would be fun. Anything along the lines of an RPG would be neat, maybe a Dragon Warrior port, or a spinoff. Sorry, I use my handhelds at work for entertainment, having a handful of games I can soak a couple hours into on a sitting is my goal! Ghouls and Ghosts was another great suggestion. Wonder Boy/Adventure Island. Phantasy Star or Maybe Y's would be really cool. Perhaps a real solid Defender port would be good.... I still love Defender. Wonderboy and Defender: I still love them too! It's really sad to think about what Lynx could have been....

jum
Cool thread. I made a start on "Moon Patrol" (and some other games) for Lynx a few years back: http://jum.pdroms.de/lynx/lynxprog.html Unfortunately ran out of motivation or time, or the Lynx CPU was just not powerful enough to do it... - Jum

Tom-Lynx
LOL....you are all singing to the choir. Sounds like it would be easier to write a MAME emulator for Lynx and then load your ROMs with a flashcard.
shadow460
I have no idea if any of these would run on the Lynx: '90's: SHUMPS: Strikers 1945, Aero Fighters 2, and Raiden DX or the Raiden Fighters. Racers: SCUD Race, Daytona USA, Virtua Racing. Pinball emu's: Maverick, Jurassic Park, Twilight Zone ...and for the heck of it, Virtual On. '80's: SHMUPS: Galaga, Burai Fighter, Star Castle Racers: Pole Position II (done right with voice over this time), Turbo, Championship Sprint Pinball emu's: Big Guns
lynxmatt1980
Mortal Kombat I, II, 3? Final Fight (mighty final fight?) Root Beer Tapper R-type TMNT (the arcade game): It was ported to NES, the lynx could easily do that. Bionic Comando Gunsmoke Commando 1943 Danny Sullivan's Indy Heat (like Super Off road, but indy cars) NBA Jam
Atari_afternoon
Cool thread. I made a start on "Moon Patrol" (and some other games) for Lynx a few years back: http://jum.pdroms.de/lynx/lynxprog.html Unfortunately ran out of motivation or time, or the Lynx CPU was just not powerful enough to do it... - Jum Excuse me if this has been asked before (if so, I couldn´t find it) but how do I turn the formats of the latter three demos to a "Handy"- or FC-readable lyn or lyx or bin format? Unzipped they all look like a DOS executable programme here...

Major Havoc 2049
Dungeon Master (w/2-player co-op comlynx support, in-game music) Dungeon Master: Chaos Strikes Back (ditto) Ballblazer/Rescue of Fractalus combo pack (comlynx support for Ballblazer) The Eidolon Koronis Rift The Temple of Apshai Trilogy Tetris (Atari Games version w/ 2-player comlynx) Winter Games (4-player comlynx) Silent Service Gunship Pirates! Edit: Now that I think about it, Gunship uses too many keys on the keyboard to translate well to the Lynx. EricDeLee
Tetris (Atari Games version w/ 2-player comlynx) Edit: Now that I think about it, Gunship uses too many keys on the keyboard to translate well to the Lynx. I haven't tried it... but can't you play T-Tris this way? The profile of the game says it is 1-8 players... I'm not really sure though. Edit... I just read this (I think I will try it when I get home this evening as well): T-Tris Review Since T-TRIS is on the Lynx, that means it supports multiple players.Bastian writes that three-player games have been tested, and up to eight are possible. Sounds are even worse. Music is nonexistent, and the few sound effectsconsist mostly of digitized samples, blatantly stolen from STAR TREK and other sources. They don't fit the game well (if at all), and seem to be gratuitous more than anything else I completely forgot that Star Trek sounds were used in this game!!!! LOL (BTW... lots of nice old reviews on that site.)

Sadly it´s been dead for a decade, but rygar seems to have an alpha version... not to mention it isn't all that complete either. i wish it was. still i wouldn't mind having it on a cart. i think i am going to release a freebie or two to the lynx community soon. i think people will like them
Atari_afternoon
Wow, this looks great, 108 Stars - have never heard of that project! To expand the list, even as "useless" in practical terms as such a wishlist is, I wonder would Frontier Elite (II) [Lynx] be possible? I mean, at least the trading should...but with all the scaling abilities, just like in Xenophobe, whenever you land on a base/planet...would look great on the kittykat, I think! Still wondering, can anyone advise how to make three of the four demos available on the above site that have what Wondows recognizes as "DOS executable" playable on the FC or Handy at least? I get the impression you have only appreciated the screenshots and never got to play the demos themselves
Fadest
In Handy, just open the file as usual, this is like a .o file. On flash card, you will have to convert it into a rom format with lynxer tool (it will generate a .lyx file to flash)
