Gabriel #1 Posted March 24, 2008 So, who has played King of Dragons on the Capcom Collection 2 disc for the PS2 and the cart version for the SNES? I'm wondering if the SNES version has some useful bells and whistles.
figgler #2 Posted April 28, 2009 SNES version has continues you can collect, which I don't think you can get in the arcade without dropping in another quarter. I also think blocking is easier, though I am not much of a blocker anyway. This is one of the greatest games of all time IMO.
Impaler_26 #3 Posted April 28, 2009 I love King of Dragons, played it all the time with my friends when i had my SNES. Great 2 player fun and IMO one of the best sidescrolling beat 'em ups.
figgler #4 Posted April 29, 2009 Went back and checked this out again last night (and Beat it with the Wizard ) The SNES version also has 4 difficulty levels, that I would assume the arcade version doesn’t. Depending on how much you like King of Dragons, this is a big, big plus. I’ll have to try out the hard and hardest levels. I’ve always wanted to be able to finish the game as the dwarf. Of course the biggest advantage for the SNES version is the SNES controller itself. I hate the PS2 controller personally and am not much of an arcade stick user. Crazy Climber #5 Posted April 29, 2009 I played this game through a little while ago on my PSP, fun little game that I honestly do not remember back in the day. I may have played it back then, I just don't remember it. Kind of like a Final Fight meets Golden Axe with a few extras like leveling up, etc.. Is there different endings with each character? This would ad quite a bit of replay value for me
figgler #6 Posted April 29, 2009 For SNES it's the same basic ending, but whomever you beat the game with is shown standing on the cliff. I don't know what happens if you beat it with 2 players though. Cool ending still. I love game endings that take you back through the game, showing the levels - or in the case a retrospective on the bosses you've killed.
