Socrates?

There's a bare VTech Socrates sitting at one of my Goodwills. Does this system have any value in the marketplace? I have no interest in it, but perhaps it'd be worth picking up for trade?

Not really, it's considered more of an edutainment toy than a game system. The same goes with other V-tech products. The only reason anyone even still owns a Pico for example was that it was made by Sega. Typically educational software and hardware are basically valueless.

If you look at my blog, you can see my story of how I bought one of these for $1 a couple of weeks ago after talking the seller down from $2. Totally cracked me up. I thought my wife would kill me for bringing it home, but she actually wound up playing with it. It's probably not even worth selling; I'll likely stash it in a closet and then give it away on craigslist or something when I move next.

 

Actually if that one at the thrift has any of the games, I'd be willing to take them. The only one I have is "Hodge-Podge."
