Pac-Man Collection & Adventure II for the 8 bits?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

I was wondering, does anyone know if the homebrews --5200 Adventure II and 7800 Pac-Man Collection-- have ever been mentioned or planned for the Atari 8 bits? I'd love to fire these two up on an 800 or 130XE.

Thanks.

Adventure II was supposed to make it to the 8 bit, but I don't know if it ever will. I've never heard of the Pac-Man collection mentioned for the 8 bit. That one would be a lot harder to do.

Adventure II may see the light of day on the 8bit, at least it was written for a similar machine.

Pac man collection on the other hand is a hack of Ms Pac man for the 7800 so would require a total re write for the a8, therefore I dont see it happening

There are already XL/XE versions of Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, a prototype of Super Pac-Man, and there is a 5200 version of Jr. Pac-Man. Just hack those into the missing variations.

Sure - then hack in all of the missing mazes, the title screens, the updated menu, and put them all into a 32K chip... God knows all I did was hack a few things here and there to make this :ponder:

Unfortunately, I'm no where near as 'great' as other programmers on this board, but I try to do what I can.

Take a chill pill, man!

I wasn't trying to dog on your project, I was just trying to point out that trying to port a 7800 game to the XL/XE is kinda silly when so many Pac-Man variations already exist on the XL/XE.

EDIT: Especially since the XL/XE graphics hardware is so different from Maria.

I PM'd Ron/Cafeman (the guy behind Adventure II) about the 8-bit version, and he said no one had expressed interest in one, so he'd stopped after the 5200 cart. But he did say to check back in May for a possible status update.

I'm hoping he'll be able to come out with Adventure II for the 8-bit some day.

Sorry man... It sounded like that the way I read it. My bad
