is my sega cd dead?

i think my sega cd is dead, i was just playing wheel of fortune, and it was the computers turn, but the screen turned black. so i turned it off, and now it wont read anything!!! please help!!

It won't recognize any discs? I'd say your laser is either dead or dirty(or maybe a fuse blew, I'm not sure). Which model of the Sega CD do you have, the tray model(Model 1, this one sits under the Genesis) or the lid model(Model 2, this one's a bulge that comes out the side of the Genesis)?

model 2, and it says no disc! it works now, but im afraid it might give out again
