Uber Troll #1 Posted April 1, 2008 (edited) Hello, After years of having no Jaguar system, I just took the big leap and bought a huge lot of stuff to kick start my habit! The lot I got from ebay has a ton of stuff, including the CD drive and games including some that look like they are defintly burnt/pirate copies. Most of the games on these burnt disks play as normal but am not sure the one below which does not have a title or anything when you put it in. I can basically walk around and pick stuff up but I can't get any further than that. I would very much like to know what it is and get a manual for it if possible. Sorry for the crap video quality but the only way I can capture is from the jaguar into a old vcr and then into my card. Thanks! Cool you just might have found something very special if it is not some new demo someone was cooking together. My first guess was a) very early alpha of Black Ice White Noise b) very early Alpha of Iron Soldier. Being on CD speaks for BIWN but being able to look up reminds me of IS. Anybody else? This is very interesting. What else is there? Did you get that from a former DEv? Interesting how stuff keeps turning up.... oh one more question. What is the stuff you can pick up? Here are some pics of the objects I've seen in this game. one looks like a giant direction arrow, which I can't pick up or push and is pointing to a large black block that looks like some kind of machine or a head with teeth. The other looks like a giant key and I can pick it up and drop it but it only makes a noise. I tried all the buttons but i can only pick it up and drop it. iron soldier maybe? Yeah well Iron soldier has an arrow on the street of the first level to show you the way, but it is no solid polygon thingy and there is no key. But that might have changed during development. Cool stuff. Are you able to upload a video of it on youtube or something like that? Would be interesting to see how it looks. Seems like you made a really good find there. :-) I also wonder why it is on Cd. I don't think that IS2 started from scratch like that since they had already the source for the first part and the tools to build the cities. Maybe you could ask the seller where that is from and if he knows something about it. That would be the easiest thing I imagine. I WAS going to make copies of this game for everyone for free and hand deliver it to each of your houses, but since you people are making fun of my great discovery, I am now going to put it in my safe forever (next to my copy of Red Sea Crossing 2000) and never even play it myself! That will show you! BTW-Is it midnight yet?

Kripto #15 Posted April 1, 2008 Actually, All kidding aside, the screenshots above are from an actual, playable version of Adventure 2000 that I am currently working on. It is however NOT a Jaguar game (Sorry everybody) but you will in fact be able to play it for free shortly on your PC or Mac (it is in progress and pretty far along). I'll be announcing it 'for real' tomorrow (using my normal persona, i.e this one) in the homebrew section of this site. The idea behind Adventure 2000 is to actually make it look and feel like what Atari should (in my opinion) have released for the Jaguar. So, for example, most shading with be done with vertex colors instead of texture maps, etc. I may release a more 'dolled-up' version in the future after I wrap up some commercial projects I have lined up. Sorry for the April Fool's deception but I hadn't really announced yet, I have a very nice "TV Screen Effect" filter in PhotoShop, and just couldn't resist... Gorf- I would be interested in seeing some additional screens of Adventure 3D if you're cool with that (You posted one a while back). How far along are you with it? Do you have a functioning bridge and magnet? Those have been fun to code...
