Fräulein #1 Posted April 13, 2008 http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=124165 I have recently acquired eleven games including instruction manuals. Along with seven catalogs and one Atari Force comic, from a kid that I take care of. We made the agreement that I would get him Pokemon Emerald in exchange. I already did that. I have my own 2600 system and my own games. I have no interest in keeping these games for myself. I already have my own carts of a few of the games, and the others I no longer have paddles for, so I could not play them, even if I wanted to. I have decided to sell the games, catalogs, and comic and give the kid the profit (minus the cost of the pokemon cart). I have gone through a few a few guides and have not seen any that "agree" with each other on values of carts. My questions: What do you feel is a good guide for cart values? and Is there a guide that has values for Atari catalogs, and that Atari Force comic? and I am also having trouble deciding if I should sell this as two lots or items individually. I know of two carts that may be rare (which goes back to the two guides not agreeing). Thanks for any help.
accousticguitar #2 Posted April 13, 2008 If you click on "2600" in the blue bar towards the top of the screen it will take you to a database that you can search by typing in the name of the games you have (one at a time, of course). It will show you a rarity rating (1-10) which will help determine the value. If the rarity is 1-3 the game is probably worth that much in dollars (a rarity 3 game is usually worth about 3 dollars, although a few of the harder to find ones might be worth a dollar or two more). If you have any games that are R4 or higher you probably should sell them separately.
pangasinan #3 Posted April 13, 2008 (edited) It depends on whether the games are PAL or NTSC .The "2600" in the blue bar only gives you any rarity info on NTSC.Your nic tells me that you may be in Germany, therefore its a good chance that your games are PAL.Your best bet is to list the games here and we can tell you,are they boxed ??.I dont think that Atari catalogs are worth anything despite some ebay sellers asking a lot of money for them. Fräulein #5 Posted April 13, 2008 (edited) I see now. duh...I dont know why I never saw that. Any recommended price guides for the catalogs or instruction manuals? All of the cartridges are NTSC and "locked". I have not had time to pulg in and see if they still work. But I have been scanning them and compiling as much info as I can. The list is as follows and all have their instruction manuals. Asteroids Berzerk Breakout Circus Atari Combat Missile Command Pac-Man Space Invaders Cosmic Ark from imagic Omega Race from CBS electronics Lock and Chase from Mattel There are two games that there are manuals for but no game ?? But you can see that they are pretty common. @pangasinan - I am in the US. I live in the state rumored to have all those E.T. cartridges at the tip PAL - Police Athletic League Edited April 13, 2008 by Fräulein
accousticguitar #6 Posted April 13, 2008 (edited) The last 2 games are slightly less common, the rest are very common. It is sometimes hard to sell games around here because almost everybody already has the common ones. I don't think instructions are worth much, but I don't know for sure. I would be surprised if they were worth more than $1 each. I would think the catalogs would be worth a little more. I don't know of any price guides for them. What you have would be a good starter set for someone. Edited April 13, 2008 by accousticguitar
pangasinan #7 Posted April 13, 2008 PAL? What's that? That is a far superior color system than NTSC that is used in countries like Australia and European countries.

A.J. Franzman #13 Posted April 14, 2008 Omega Race requires a special "Booster Grip" accessory (which attaches to a standard CX-40 joystick controller), and will sell much better with it than without it. Do you have this item?

Fräulein #15 Posted April 14, 2008 Omega Race requires a special "Booster Grip" accessory (which attaches to a standard CX-40 joystick controller), and will sell much better with it than without it. Do you have this item? Nope. These are not my games. I am only selling them for the kid so he does not get ripped off if he were to take them into town and try to sell them himself, or sell them at one of his little "garage sales". I think I may have come up with a solution to my lot or not lot dilema though. there are eight games, all with instructions. And there are enough catalogs that I could probably make a little package deal for each game. I did plug them all in to see if they work and only one I had trouble with and that was probably my console being all grumpy. It was the lock n' chase game. It works but it appears like when you have pulled the cassette out while playing. But I think the problem is my console.
accousticguitar #16 Posted April 14, 2008 It might just need cleaned. A little alcohol on a q-tip usually does the trick.
