Any ST is great for games. If you want to use it with a TV set get the 520STfm, the 1040STfm is harder to find (with RF modulator). The regular 1040ST is much easier to find and great, if you have a monitor...

The STe, obviously.

It has more colour and added graphics capabilities (even though not much uses them).

The RAM is simple to expand by adding 30 pin SIMMs.

But, they are more sought after and you'll probably pay double the price or more.

The STE is not the best for lots of reasons:

1. Costs like 5 times as much as a 520ST.

2. Kind of hard to find, especially in the US/Canada

3. The expanded features are not used in 99% of the game software that was released.

4. TOS 1.60+ is not very compatible with most earlier games, plus it's buggy (TOS 1.0 or 1.4 is the best version for compatibiliy)
