carlivar #1 Posted April 19, 2008 Can anyone help me ID this cart? It is sitting in my collection which means I probably picked it up at a thrift store 10-12 years ago. My guess is maybe the Atari computer line. The label on the front seems home made possibly. As you can see the title is "Expload" and also has some initials CL on it. The end of the cart has a red button. No end label. Thanks!
classics #2 Posted April 20, 2008 Probably a c-64 fastloader. Can you show the edge connector? Steve

carlivar #4 Posted April 20, 2008 Sure here is a pic of the contacts. A bit blurry but should be okay.
2600Lives #5 Posted April 20, 2008 Yep, that looks like a C-64 fast loader cart. The little red button on it is usually the telling feature.
Nukey Shay #6 Posted April 20, 2008 (edited) ...or a "freeze" cartridge (used for on-the-fly program hacking). The Action Replay cart looks similar. When the button is pressed, you break out of the program and can alter memory, or make copies of it that boot up to that point in the program. This page lists "Super Explode" as a screen-capture cartridge. Edited April 20, 2008 by Nukey Shay
carlivar #7 Posted April 20, 2008 Thanks for the info. Anyone want to buy it? Otherwise I will ask around in C64 forums I suppose, or just put it on Ebay as a last resort...
