S1500 #1 Posted April 23, 2008 Let's think about this. There' s the NES. It has a cartridge port, and tons O games to stuff in it. But what about those consoles that have the wonderful solid state porthole, but no offerings to it? 1. Chintendo Vii Sport - I have ONE cart for it, that came with the system. Looks like a GBA cart. I know I will probably never see any more carts for it. Sad, since it sits so nicely in my entertainment system & has a wireless controller. Bonus: A 9-pin, i assume for a game controller, but I never tried it. Bet my famiclone controller will work. 2. OneStation: I have one, and it looks like the only carts for it will be the ones they sell on dealextreme.com, which are just pirate comps. 3. Some Jakks TV game systems that have a "key" port, where you can play additional games with it. I knew a few "keys" were released, but what is the future of them? Okay, maybe it wasn't Jakks, but some controller-shaped dedicated system. Someone should reverse-engineer this to make some sort of crazy hack-up console out of it. Any others? It's something to think about. The hardware is there to play more gams on it, but alas, no specs released or whatever.
shadow460 #2 Posted April 23, 2008 PS1 and Saturn have ports that aren't used by more than a couple of pieces of official hardware. The Saturn's ports are used by the Backup cart, the NetLink, and the internal expansion bay is used by a VCD decoder. The PS2's IDE port is used only by a couple of games max.
