NINOCARDO #1 Posted April 27, 2008 Hello, I've tried local goodwill's & thrift stores with very limited success. Does anyone know of anywhere else to look besides goodwill or ebay? Thanks!

NeitherSparky #3 Posted April 30, 2008 I don't know where in the Bay Area you are, but I recommend 4Jays in Antioch. If you don't want to drive they can ship. We actually drove all the way out there from Sac to find they didn't have any Atari's in the shop, so my brother ordered one through their site. If you call ahead though, they told us they could have a unit there for you to pick up. You can see their prices on the website though. They're very nice, and when our unit came with a defective joystick they replaced it for free (though my brother managed to fix it so now we have an extra). 4Jays was worth the drive to to see all the neat stuff they had there, even if we didn't actually buy anything. Oh and while we were in Antioch I gots me a new tarantula at an exotics shop, lol. It was a fun day. As for me locally, we have a place called Fair Game on Fair Oaks Blvd in Citrus Heights, plus all the Dimple Records can be relied on to have carts and on the rare occasion, an actual unit. I picked up a mint Flashback 2 from the Dimple on Macy Plaza Dr in Citrus Heights last night for $25. Dimple's carts are always $1.99 no matter what, where 4Jays and Fair Game tend to charge more. I guess it's a chain-vs-nonchain thing.
sandmountainslim #4 Posted May 1, 2008 I don't know but I have heard that if you hang around Haight-Ashbury after dark announcing that you need Atari games that there are guys who will take you home with them and let you pick thru their collections of carts and consoles etc..........maybe just a rumour. I get to Sac once in a while, so I will check out Dimple records. Have you ever found any good or rare games at Dimples? Do they have a large inventory of atari games? Thanks! NeitherSparky #8 Posted May 1, 2008 Have you ever found any good or rare games at Dimples? Do they have a large inventory of atari games? Thanks! There's only 2 locations here now, the one on Macy and the one on Arden, and um...not really to both questions...because I've already picked them over. They just have your ordinary ones; I was pleased to find E.T. (Unfortunately both copies of Superman I bought were defective, they play but have issues.) Of course, I don't have the "rare or unusual carts" list memorised, I just went for the titles I like.
