Youtube clowns

I've been buying a lot of nes/snes games, including a fair number of obscure titles I've never heard of. This means that when I have my ebay open, I also have my youtube open to see how some of these less known games play. Unfortunately, youtube is full of loud, drugged up clowns that seem to run at the mouth for the first 2 minutes of a game and then quit. Now, there are some that in spite of their foul mouth, tend to play a good portion of the game and actually provide a passable review. The angry video game nerd comes to mind.

 

But mostly clowns like this, this and especially this clown just seem to waste everybody's time. Some of them turn out videos by the HUNDREDS. why not? they only take 2 minutes to make, and they won't quit until their garbage outnumbers real information. I also think the meaning of 'review' is lost on them.

 

Don't mind me, I'm mostly venting. The sad thing is that on some titles I've been bidding on, these clowns are the only source of video information.

 

So what if they're just playing 'bad' games, I'd still like a look. What if they were reviewing the first two minutes of good nes/snes titles? Well it'd probably look like this:

 

Zelda: well I don't really know what this game is about, it's based off of history or something. you're a little green thing I've named in an obscene manner. Uh huh huh. What is this? where is my _____ sword? What kind of a ____ game starts me out without a sword? What am I supposed to do, just walk around and talk to the monsters? This sux, I died.

 

metroid: meatroid? what's a meatroid? sounds like an std. huh huh. well, I guess I'm supposed to turn into some kind of ___ ball or something and shoot things. dude, I'm on so many drugs right now, I just turned int o a ball. Oh look my "girlfriend" just txted me over the top of my video--what a stupid _______. huh huh.

 

final fantasy 3: I'm just standing on a hill talking to some people with robot pants er something. They have stupid names. Now I'm walking in the snow. I've been doing this forever, it's some kind of 'walk in the snow' game or something. look at this, I can't even control them and there's all this funny names flashing on the screen. That guys name sounds like ______. well, I must be winning because I haven't died yet. This suxxors and stuff...

I would hope that you aren't surprised that there isn't an intelligent audience on the internet. It's the internet. I come here (mostly just the Atari boards and classic boards at that) and to the Videogame Critic forum. Outside of that, I don't use ANY of the rest of the entire internet anymore. I'm in the process of giving up email because if I have to hear from one more friend I thought was normal that "Bill Gates is sending [him/her] money for every time [they] forward an email" then I'll kill myself. I was all about the internet at one point, and then I realized that pretty much everyone on the internet was dumb. Now I get my news from the newspaper, my videogames in the wild again, my explanations from a Dictionary or Encyclopedia, and my music from records. It's like it's 1980 again and no one is intentionally retarded.

I'm in the process of giving up email because if I have to hear from one more friend I thought was normal that "Bill Gates is sending [him/her] money for every time [they] forward an email" then I'll kill myself.

My mother still gets similar e-mails from relatives and that's after she tells them to read my page:

She even gives them links to places like Snopes and tells them to look it up before they forward these stupid e-mails, but they keep doing it month after month. It's one thing if you're just plain ignorant, but when you have been enlightened and you still keep sending these stupid e-mails, you deserve a punch in the face.

Also search "Let's play" seems to be a good search key to find more mature/useful reviews. Also just tell by the age of their voice, if they sound like they're in their late 20's/early 30's it'll most likely be an enthusiast, instead of some teenage twit.

I had an interest in making some fun and smart reviews but its the rubbish like this that turns me off from even doing so

 

I will state for the record I'm a big fan of Angry Nerd, and not many ppl can pull his shtick off, he's actually a professional at what he does and he's not always like that if anyone has ever seen him review a movie he is very much out of his Angry Nerd character and its cool to see that too.

 

I found a few other guys on YouTube that I feel are exceptions to the over crowded pool of "Game Reviewers" to bad the pool is polluted with rubbish

I like the reviewer who posts on the youtube account "InecomCompany". More mature than most of the stuff out there, and he's even a 7800 fan.

Some of the videos are from 10 years ago, when he was doing a show with somebody else. More recently he posted them on youtube and started doing some game reviews by himself. He's laid back, and to my amusement he even bleeps himself out on the rare occasions when he swears.
