Spirantho
Does anyone have this 4-in-1 cartridge? http://www.atariguide.com/16/1606b.htm I looked for its dump but couldn't find it anywhere Most multi-carts aren't dumped... for the most part you wouldn't want to - just download the games separately! In fact many multi-carts have hacked ROMs so there is a case for dumping them, but for all intents and purposes you may as well just download the parts. Welcome to AtariAge, by the way! Thanks for the welcome. The problem is the specific version of River Raid existing in that cartridge isn't found anywhere. Well, at least i've searched the forums and the internet, and found nothing. Spirantho
The problem is the specific version of River Raid existing in that cartridge isn't found anywhere. Well, at least i've searched the forums and the internet, and found nothing. If anyone could help me in this matter, it would be cool It'll probably be dumped somewhere - it's probably under the name "River III" or "River Raid III" I'd have thought. Most of the multi-carts used ROMs that are available as single carts I think, but I'm not too sure about the Dactar ones. I know "River Raid III" is comparitively easy to get hold of in PAL flavour, as we have more pirates than the US guys do. As Dactar is Brazilian though you may have some luck finding it on a Brazilian pirate cart dump somewhere. If anyone has a copy in the UK I can dump it for them.... but I doubt many people do! ComputerSpaceFan
Does anyone have this multi-cart already? I'm intrigued to buy one. But will it work in a modded Flashback 2 and I've never heard of Mr Postman nor RiverRaid III before, are they fun? I liked River Raid II (and obviously the original is a classic). alb3530
That version of River Raid is a legendary one for me.This 4-in-1 was the second cartridge my father bought. That River Raid (named as "River III" in the cartridge) was the first one i saw, and i thought it was an original game. The game is pretty hard. You hardly reaches the 10th stage. This is due to random walls in brown stages. And sometimes, the walls take everything ahead you, so that you'll have no other choice than crashing your plane against the wall. It commonly happens at the end of the stage, and it happens randomly. I really hope someone can dump the cartridge soon. Well, no one has done it so far after years, but i assume it's due to people don't know that version of River Raid is different from the other ones that are available as single ROMs. Attached are three screenshots from River Raid edited by me with Paint, where i tried to reproduce the first and second stages of "River III". http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?a...g&id=100558 there are two pictures of yellow stage, cause i can't remember how it was exactly. Then i've made two versions. Omegamatrix
Did it look like any of these? There are a bunch more with slight differences (like the a different pirate company logo). River_Raids.zip
BassGuitari
I've got River Raid II (by Cosmovision) and River Raid III (not sure by who...it's got no top label), which are the same game except for the company logo on the screen. The game(s) is a hack of River Raid, and is probably the same game you have. Both are Brasilian pirate cartridges, as far as I know. This hack does seem more difficult. The terrain is strange, with all sorts of different patterns of odd protrusions from the shorelines (are they supposed to be docks or something?), and boats that sail through land, and helicopters stuck inside little ponds or lakes in the "mainland" that don't appear in the normal version of River Raid. Lots of weird stuff like that. The play mechanics are otherwise the same, but the game is more challenging, partly due to its peculiar layout. I can answer your question partially. It's not "Eskimo Jump" for sure. It's Frost Bite, yet i don't know if it is the original one.Anyway, the game is just like the original. Thanks for your suggestion If they could dump the ROM it would be great. But if i bought the cartridge from one of them, i couldn't dump it to play in PC.And i don't have a Atari 2600 That's why i'm looking for the ROM I've got River Raid II (by Cosmovision) and River Raid III (not sure by who...it's got no top label), which are the same game except for the company logo on the screen. This river raid III is in fact unique. I have about 500 roms now that aren't in the TOSEC set as verified with CLRMame. I can try to post the roms from this one pretty soon. alb3530
Did you try any of the roms I posted? As Rom told, he gently sent me the versions he had. Does anyone have this 4-in-1 cartridge? http://www.atariguide.com/16/1606b.htm I looked for its dump but couldn't find it anywhere Hi, since it's my site you could email me Hi. I thought about it.I'm used to email developers, companies, and so on to give suggestions or asking for help in specific matters. But when i reached your site, at first sight, i saw it as a commercial site, once people can buy the items that are shown there, and i didn't think it was a good idea to ask from a ROM dump from a site that sells cartridges. I did not explore the site though, cause i've googled for the 4-in-1 cartridge, and your site appeared as a relevant result. Then i was surprised to see that cart there, with pictures and so on... and i copied the link to ask for help here in atariage. I just couldn't imagine i would get help here from the admin of the site where i saw the pictures of the cartridge for the "first time" after more than ten years This river raid III is in fact unique. Indeed my friend, indeed... I have about 500 roms now that aren't in the TOSEC set as verified with CLRMame... Cool I didn't get CLRMame cause i've got Good2006, supposing it is better. I can try to post the roms from this one pretty soon I really thank you. This ROM isn't found anywhere so far, even after years of Atari communities and related stuff sites. In my opinion, the reason for the lack of that ROM until today is the fact it's not known of many people.Other point is, probably collectors that even have the cartridge don't know the game is unique, like you said.As there are many River Raid hacks, one might look at that cartridge, and think it's just one more hack. You'll be the first person in the world to make it available. Thank you again best regards

Jason Man I would love to have your inventory! I would be doing the same thing, lol. It will be neat to see all these Brazilian pirates. Jason do you have a datasheet of what rom goes to what cart? Will be useful if someone else wants to dump theirs, that way we can see what cart has been done before. I dumped two or three of these a while back. I'll see if I can find them. Rom Hunter
No luck in contacting Jason of AtariGuide? Since he owns the cart and a dumper, you should be able to get it. If it's a problem to get the emulated game on screen, perhaps Omegamatrix can help you out there.
Fangorn81
Just a note: There are 5 Dactar 4-in-1 carts on ebay as I write this. None of them are the cart in question, but still worth a mention...
