No Guarantee when Pre-Ordering at Gamestop

Not interested in the game, but this caught my eye at Kotaku because the topic is one of my favorite dead horses to flog.

Short version:

 

Allegedly, Gamestop employees are being told to disregard pre-orders and sell the reserved games to whoever walks in the store. That $10 to reserve a game is nothing more than a placebo.

 

Not that this is really any change from normal Gamestop procedure. And not that there's any danger of selling out of GTA4.

Pre-ordering is for suckers anyways unless you're getting something cool for it. Too often the pre-ordered game ends up being not that great.
