Does z26 ever lock up on anyone besides me?

Hi all,

 

I like z26, but I find that often (once in 5 tries), the frame rate will drop to zero, as if the game is stuck in a race condition.

If I wait long enough, it'll go back to normal, but usually I just exit and restart a few times.

 

I'm running on Windows XP. Anyone else ever see this?

Do I need to set the priority of the z26 task higher? If so, how would I do that?

John, what version are you using? I had an issue with Z26 on XP but it was an older version. Try this one:

 

Z26V213X.ZIP

 

Also X26 is a beautiful front-end for Z26. You can find it here, but don't follow the links to Z26, as it is the older version of Z26 they link to.

X26 makes it easy to enable the Z26 parameters you want like show scanline count, swap joystick ports, etc...

Hi OmegaMatrix!

 

I juts checked-- I have the exact same version.

So, maybe something's configured wrong on my computer.

I keep wondering about task priority stuff, as it seems like something in the system is interrupting the program, and when it completes, things get back to normal.

That's just a weird theory tho.
