+johnnywc #1 Posted August 15, 2002 With the latest cart/manual/box releases of Snow White, Holey Moley, RS Basketball, etc., are there any existing ROM's that you hope will be produced in a similar manner for next year? My votes are for: Klax (NTSC) Save Mary! Grover's Music Maker Saboteur Rabbit Transit Dumbo's Flying Circus Donald Duck's Speedboat
Chris++ #2 Posted August 15, 2002 The A-Team, just because Warshaw wrote it. I'm not even knowledgable enough to be sure that it's a complete game, but I think so. CF
CrazyImpmon #3 Posted August 15, 2002 How about a Doom for 2600 for real?
Tempest #4 Posted August 15, 2002 Well I have a complete (or so I think) prototype of the A-Team. I even got Howard to sign it while I was there. I never asked him if it was ok to sell it or anything though. I think Universal Studios would be knocking on my door if I ever tried. On the other hand I also have a complete version of Saboteur which I was thinking about selling, but once agan I'd have to get HSW permission first. MattyXB #5 Posted August 15, 2002 And Final Fantasy VII. See here: Atari 2600 Final Fantasy VII The original site is down, so I post my site here. But this is only a copy of the other site.
Chris++ #6 Posted August 15, 2002 Good point -- I forgot what Tim went through with that Futurama thing. Well, if you're thinking of selling the other Warshaw game, you have a for-sure buyer here! CF

+johnnywc #8 Posted August 15, 2002 Tempest - You have a complete version of Saboteur? Is it any different from the ROM avaialable here at AtariAge? The game is really cool - excellent graphics and smooth gameplay - but I'm not exactly sure what the object is. As for releasing it, perhaps you could talk to HSW and see if he's interested in promoting a box/label/instruction release much like what Mr. Polaro did with Bugs Bunny and Holey Moley - who knows? On a side note, I must say that I really enjoyed the panel discussions at CGE - HSW in particular. His recollections (or non-recollections, as the case may be) were insightful, honest, and hillarious all in one...
Paul Slocum #9 Posted August 15, 2002 It probably won't happen, but the two D&D games. -Paul
Tempest #10 Posted August 15, 2002 Yes it is different. Mostly on the third board where the pulsating shape thing that you control at the top of the screen has been replaced by a warhead which you must shoot (like the final board of A-Team where they made it a helicopter). The object is simple. You must stop the blue aliens and Yars from reaching the side of the screen where they raise the rocket. You must also protect the little yellow aliens (called Birdies in your version, but changed to Gorfons in the final) which cause the rocket to lower. Once you shoot enough aliens or the rocket reaches the top of the screen you go to board two. On the second level you must shoot the robot and reflect the shots at the warhead peices that move along the bottom of the screen. If you shoot all the pieces you see the warhead blow up on the third screen (or the shape in your version). If not, you must play the third level. The third level is very confusing in the early versions. You control the pulsating shape at the top of the screen which must shoot the tiny warhead pieces that fly at you. If too many hit you, you die and go back to the first level otherwise you shoot them all and go back to the third level (umm... you win I guess). In my version you must shoot the warhead thats bouncing around the screen shooting bullets at you (5 of them). Shoot it with your laser and you win and go back to the first. I'll post pictures on my proto site once I get my EPROM dumper (very soon hopefully). Tempest
+johnnywc #11 Posted August 16, 2002 Thanks for the info Tempest - sounds like a cool game. Hopefully HSW will agree to let someone produce it... Paul - good call on the D&D games - I completely agree. I was able to spend a good half-hour at the last CGE playing both AD&D Intellivision games for the 2600 - I was really impressed. I guess that license issue is going to hold that ever being released publically - much like LOTR.
dwh #12 Posted August 16, 2002 Just looked at the 'in development' page here at AA,so not only are there protos, but a lot of original titles everyone is impatiently waiting on.I would personally like to see Klax(ntsc) and Save Mary released in the cool looking boxes;these two also seem to be great games to play. Scott Stilphen #14 Posted August 16, 2002 Wasn't Rabbit Transit released by Starpath??
+johnnywc #15 Posted August 16, 2002 Scott - Yes, Rabbit Transit was released by Starpath. But a proto version exists by Atari in cart format.

Tempest #18 Posted August 16, 2002 No one knows the deal with Rabbit Transit, but my best guess is that Atari and Starpath were working out a deal to put Supercharger tape games on carts. I would like to know the truth though. Tempest
