Where to sell my copy of Chase the Chuckwagon with box?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

New to the site and to selling vintage games in general. I was excavating my parents house and found all of my old Atari stuff. Luckily, I saved all of my boxes and manuals and just realized that I have a copy of Chase the Chuckwagon with box. Where's the best place to sell something like this. Would ya'll recommend eBay, chasethechuckwagon.com. or a marketplace posting here?

EDIT: It's up on http://www.chasethechuckwagon.com/item.cgi...item=0000000848

Thanks,

Mike

The marketplace here on AtariAge is good place but being that you are new some of us will take caution when first dealing with you at first.

And when selling on the marketplace it always helps having pics of what you are selling and if you have feed back from ebay you could always post links to that seeing that you are new here too.

ChasetheChuckwagon.com is another place that would be ideal to list your classic gaming items for sale and right now there is a push going to support this wonderful site.

Ebay is well Ebay am sure you know how it works and your items would sale plus you could list a link to your ebay sale in the auction section on the marketplace.

Good luck with the sale my friend. :)

Good point. I could certainly provide references from EBay and the RC site I regularly trade on. I guess my biggest concern is the asking price. I don't know what a boxed copy is going for nowadays. I've seen references from everything from $150 to $600. I'm not sure what the median price is...Somwhere around $250 - 300?

Wow, nice find man! What else did you find?

IMO, if you are unsure of the price then one of the auction sites would be best for ya. That is a game I'm looking for and would be bidding on. :D

Am not for sure on price i guess it would depend on condition and shape of everything and how much someone is willing to pay for it.

The newest news letter from Atari2600.Com shows a Chase the Chuckwagon going for $171.02 on Ebay which was loose(cart only)and it was listed under "EBay Auction Costly Mistakes".

Digital Press has it list at $75 loose which seems right for this game from the other times i have seen it on Ebay or at the MGC gaming show.

So you might want to post in the classic gaming section here on AtariAge about what the best price you could sale it for. :)

OK, now that the kids are in bed, I've had a chance to examine things better. Turns out that what I thought was the manual was just the warranty registration slip from another game that had gotten shoved in there. However, I do have the box and cartridge, both of which are in great shape. It's going up on chasethechuckwagon.com.

Thanks for the advice everyone!

It will still sell well but without the manual you are probably looking at $175-$200. Very nice though!

Hey All, I am going to include the original game manual with this auction as well. I will have the seller add this to the auction. So consider this a complete version of this game !

I'm not a fan of auctions in general, but I really don't like the company who has the monopoly now. I simply don't think they are servicing their customers the way they say they are.

I just wanted to say thanks for giving some competition, instead of doing what everyone else does and going where everyone else goes. Good Luck with your sale!

Thanks for your commnets :) It is going to be a long hard battle, but with a quality growing community of collectors we are off to a very good start!
