classic-videogames
The Atari name has had a troubled corporate history over the past 25 years and if you follow the trade press you'll know that the "Atari" entity is currently the US division of Infogrames. Recently Infogrames decided to buy out the remaining public shareholders of Atari and make it fully private. A pretty boring development in a long-running saga...except for a sly shout-out from a member of the deal team. The shell company that Infogrames is using to merge Atari into its fold? Irata Acquisition Corp. M.U.L.E., anyone?
+FujiSkunk
Since "Irata" is "Atari" backwards, perhaps the tributes are coming full circle?
