Atari/Coleco joystick port part? What is this? Used for? Help!

It is made by Coleco, has an end like an atari joystick with a black cable and at the end of the cable it has 2 different size ends like an Atari ac power supply.

 

Does anybody know what this is or what it was used for? Please reply. Thanks!

That looks like the cable that connected the 2600 to the Coleco Kid Vid cassette player. See http://www.ralphbaer.com/inventions.htm for a picture of the ad for this.

Good call. It looked like a cassette cable on one end, but I couldn't figure out why it would say Coleco on the other.
