Atari5200 #2 Posted May 23, 2008 (edited) looks like either a custom job, or they are in the process of restoring it. it's awefully generic compared to how they should look. It's also missing the coin door and money door, I don't think this is an official playchoice 10 machine, or as I said before, maybe a restore project or it's in a custom cabinet. I wonder what that hole is on the front, maybe this is just a regular NES with a cab built around it? Edited May 23, 2008 by Atari5200
rockman_x_2002 #3 Posted May 25, 2008 Actually it seems like I remember seeing (and wanting) one of these in a catalog some years ago. Many years ago. From what I could tell back then, it was basically just a simple cabinet that you put your NES in. Joystick panels connected to the NES joystick ports and operated much like an NES advantage controller. And from the looks of this picture, that seems to fit the bill pretty well. Can't imagine that they'd have sold many of them since a lot of people could build something similar or better (joystick panel accepted, however). But this is either one of the units I saw in the catalog back then, or a cabinet styled after the one I saw. Wish I still had the old catalogs from yesteryear, but hindsight is always 20/20. +RangerG #4 Posted May 25, 2008 (edited) I think that is a Pro-Play Arcade. Search around and you'll find information on it. It was sold in the early Nintendo Power mags and Toys R Us as a "turn your console into an arcade machine".
