atari800, 64-bit linux and joystick problem

Recommended Posts

I have a ASUS AM2 64-bit UBUNTU Linux system.

I am running sourceforge's ATARI800 emulator.

I have a Saitek P750 game pad.

Linux can use the joustick but the ATATI800 emulator does not see it. :(

Any ideas on how to get the emulator to see and use it? :?:

While I don't know what atari800 does, you should probably test where the "joystick" input files are. In earlier revisions, they

have been in /dev/js0 and so on, newer kernels (or rather udev) places them under /dev/input/js0. This might be the source of your

problem.

You also might want to try a different emulator. (-:

Greetings,

Thomas

Hello. You might try posting a similar post in the emulator section of atari age, and another in the computers section. A lot of people have discussed the asus computers in the computers forum and might be able to help. It's near the bottom of all the forums. Good luck.

Plus, as the previous post said, you might try a different emulator that may work better with ubuntu linux.
