FC Mobile

Recommended Posts

Ben Heck? I think he's hacked a few Ataris and turned them into handhelds.

Though depending, it'd be cool if you could load Atari ROMS into the handheld, and load them from a scrollable menu.

I'd pitch in for something like that. No multicarting, no Cuttle Cart...but something like a GOOD Flashback system on the run.

Yeah, I know Ben Heck has made really cool looking portable 2600s, and you can even get the plans and try yourself, but it seems WAY expensive.... I'd like to have a 2600 version of an FC mobile, I wouldn't even mind having to bring around some carts! A portable FB2 would be cool also, it's just you have to settle for what games they put on it.

I thought the Atari comp for the PS2 was the answer to my prayers.... then I saw the emulation... ;(*

Ben Heck is near impossible to contact, I have emailed him at least 10 times with no response :(

It may be better that way. He's been working on an mvs console for me for quite some time (nov 2006)

What is the consensus on these ROM-playing portables? They're basically the same as the FC mobile, only with flash memory instead of a cart port? What's the build quality like? Can the buttons be corrected?

Edit: Upon further inspection, I don't think the PDC takes ROMs, but I know I saw an almost identical unit that did. Same question still applies, if you know the system to which I was referring.
