Need to know how to get to memo pad

There is no memopad on the 130XE.

You could boot the Translator disk on your 130XE, holding down Option, and then when Translator boots, remove the disk, turn off the drive and press SELECT.

The Memo Pad was replaced by the Self Test code so typing BYE in BASIC or using X=USR(58481) line might get you into the Self Test. From Type 2 AtariDOSes you can usually do (M) Run at Address E471 and get either the Memo Pad or the Self Test depending on which OS you are running. SpartaDOS would then use the

RUN E471

 

command.

 

I've always used E480 but apparently that is a slightly different entry point into the Self Test code, ya learn something every day around here. Page 222, XL version of Mapping the Atari, just to give credit where due.
