Help! TI-99/4A not working.

Recommended Posts

Hey all, awhile back I found a TI-99/4A in great cosmetic condition at a thrift store for 7 bucks, so I picked it up. Well the RF unit it came with was pretty beat up and the 2nd antenna connector was severed so I fixed it and well when I turn it on I get a black screen and a loud repeating tone. Anybody have any experience with these machines and can tell me what might be wrong with it? It was pretty dirt cheap to get but I would like to see if I can fix it myself otherwise I'll probly just dispose of it.

If you want you can send that my way. Otherwise if the adapter is like a genesis model 1 ( it uses the same RF as most Atari based products ) then use that.

Disregaurd the following I just saw the item. It might just need a video adapter of the same type. Since this is Texas instruments you can probably call them up ( e-mail and show them a image of your plug ) and order a even better RF.

In fact that looks like a camera adapter of my camera. Images of the plug endings, thank you.

Also sometimes you might have to refurbish on your own, to get these to work.
