2600Lives #1 Posted June 16, 2008 I was watching this "classic" piece of gaming history again on YouTube tonight, and realized something. The guy in it was John Kassir! The voice of the Crypt Keeper! Wow. I haven't seen it in umpteen years, and knowing this makes it all the cooler!
Vic George 2K3 #3 Posted June 16, 2008 Ugh! A good thing the game was way better than the commercial made for it.
Red_Queen #4 Posted June 16, 2008 Well there was nothing wrong with the Rap Zelda commercial. It was okay for the idea of rap and Zelda at the time. Personally when I was younger I danced to the third games commerical theme "Get down with Zelda" .
Vic George 2K3 #5 Posted June 16, 2008 That commercial was NOT "rap Zelda". It was more like "geek Zelda", giving a rather bad impression that this game was for that type of game players.
Red_Queen #6 Posted June 16, 2008 Oh I never seen that one before. That commercial is gered towards children at least of age 12. The idea was that the game was going to send you screaming ( since the game is challenging ) and most people would freak out after awhile. Considering the mature material that children had access to ( scary stories ). In general that would be Link ( to children or DAD players ) and he would running all over the place trying to find Zelda. The goofy nioses is there to attract children. I mean god almighty and I thought that rap Zelda was bad ( Not awakening ). This kinda stuff could mess up a child in the future. It is kinda like the guy at carnival was saying while he waiting for more customers. Nothing has changed at all.
kevincal #7 Posted June 17, 2008 Zelda games are pretty cool, but overrated imo. They are too hard and long. I have a short attention span. The first Zelda used to frustrate the hell out of me. I'd either get lost or bored after awhile.
opeygon #8 Posted June 17, 2008 i remember this commercial very well. and what an amazing display of acting skill by mr. kassir!
