SoundGammon #1 Posted June 18, 2008 Hi everyone! Just brought in from the garage a complete Cinematronics 1980 "ARMOR ATTACK" Vector Graphic COCKTAIL arcade machine! Got it from a friend who had no place to keep it anymore. It powers up fine. Has a plug that needs reconnecting, won't coin up. Right side of the screen is "squished" in. I don't know if this is an adjustment or what, I haven't spent much time on it yet. One thing I can say it is well built. I plan to put this on E-BAY, but first I'm going to get some pics and forward them to the KLOV web-site, seems they don't have any pics of a cocktail version. What's neat about this unit is that the screen is still in the "horizontal" format, nothing changed from upright version, but each player sits on either end and plays from a "vertical" standpoint, looking down at their tank. It would be fun to put the Atari 2600 version of COMBAT/TANK in a cabinet like this, or even INDY 500. Anyway, here's the link to KLOV's description of the game: http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=6925. More later...Rob
tremoloman2006 #2 Posted June 18, 2008 (edited) Good for you! I used to play that one all the time... I have a love for vector games... some day I hope to score a Star Castle, Rip-Off, or Tempest. Edited June 18, 2008 by tremoloman2006
Cassidy Nolen #3 Posted June 18, 2008 Chances are the monitor needs a cap kit and a reflow of solder on all the connectors. Often makes you wonder if thats the reason it has been sitting since the 80s? If you want top dollar, I may wait to list the auction until after Labor day, just my .25 though; summer prices are always down. Very cool find. Never worked on a cocktail one, only the uprights. Cinematronics stuff is all weird to tinker with, very neat history for a company. Goes to show why we now have development teams versus a single person with all the knowledge in a field...
