Can someone post pics of the back or side of a Nomad so I can see what kind of space the original battery pack takes up? And put it next to a drink can or CD so I can compare.

I took a few shots of the stock AA holder. (I hope that's the pack you're looking for) It looks like it's as small as six AA cells get when oriented that way. if you're looking at the back of the nomad and see the holes to hold it on, the hooks for those holes are on the exact edges of the unit.

It looks like a radioshack battery holder, some velcro and a barrel connector and wire would do the trick for making a repalacement battery pack. If one should so choose.

N cells are a little bit smaller than C cells, so six of them would be aligned across the back horizontally. I think mouser has packs for them, else I am stuck with tape or a DIY battery holder. I think maybe a C cell holder would work, have to make them fit a little, probably stuff paper between the cells. Thanks for the pics!! I'll see about getting some up of my own later today, show you what I am working with.

pic's a little fuzzy, sorry about that. I have these things in a bunch of different devices, and they work great. eight of these cells and a small diode should be just the right voltage to go into the power jack (not the battery pack connector).
