slosu #1 Posted June 28, 2008 (edited) I don't know.....is it me??? With out even playing or seeing the game I think it sucks!!! I think there is waaaayy too much Aerosmith!! Not only that the other songs are not the greatest either. It's not that I hate Aerosmith....they're an alright band but as far as the game goes where is the variety? I guess if you're a die hard Aerosmith fan this game rules. I guess I'd feel the same way if there was Guitar Hero: Pink Floyd and 2/3 of the songs were from that band. I'd love it! But I still like variety. Has anybody played this game??? I'd like to hear others oppinion. Steve Edited June 28, 2008 by slosu
Tempest #2 Posted June 28, 2008 What I find funny is that some of their best songs aren't in there! It's like having a greatest hits CD and leaving off half of your hits. I *might* pick this up if it's cheap. Maybe... I'm still not all that thrilled with the song list this time. Tempest
+RandomPerson #3 Posted June 29, 2008 I've got the deluxe pre-ordered for the Wii and I pick it up in the morning. Great way toget a second guitar if you don't have one yet and with a price tag of $99.99 for the bundle it's well worth it seeing as the game alone is $59.99 and first party controllers for GH on the Wii are between $59.99 and $79.99 depending where and when you buy one it's a hell of a deal IMO to buy the bundle. Look at it as a $20 dollar game and it's a heck of alot easier to rationalize it to your wallet.
ninjarabbit #4 Posted June 29, 2008 Funny. I went to Gamestop today and the clerk told me that they had a midnight sale for the game and only one person showed up for it. This game is going to bomb and there's 2 reasons why. First obviously is that it's too Aerosmith-centric and anyone who isn't a huge Aerosmith fan will probably pass. Second is that the market too clogged with Guitar Hero/Rock Band games. GH3 and Rock Band only came out about 7 months ago and the DS version of GH only came out like a week ago, franchise fatigue is setting in especially since these games cost more than normal games due to all the extra crap. moycon #5 Posted June 30, 2008 The reviews I read said it's really not different than any of the other GH recently released except for the song list and skins of the stars in the game (Run DMC, Aerosmith etc..) They said it was considerably easier than the other recent games and it was perfect for people new to the franchise. That would definately fit me. I've never played a GH game save for the demo units at kiosks. I'll pick it up if I can find it cheap enough.
SRGilbert #6 Posted June 30, 2008 For what it's worth, Kmart has the PS2 version with 2 wired SG guitars for $89.99 this week, seems decent if you only have the PS2 like me. KMART LINK
Shannon #7 Posted June 30, 2008 (edited) Not much to say except... It does appear easier.. They fixed the slowdown problem when activating the star power (on the 360). Only one guitar battle. Unlike GH 3 which I think had 3 seperate battles. I've never seen aerosmith live but I also gather that they "captured" live movements of the band members because the movements of the characters in the Aerosmith specific songs seem choreographed to the song. Interesting but not something I'm watching when trying to follow the notes. Edited June 30, 2008 by Shannon

No midnght madness at my GS or I would have went. I'm loving it so far and I think the song list is pretty good. Some of the newer aerosmith songs I'm not familiar with but they are still cool. Joan Jett was nice to see on the set. the pick gaurd is really nice also on the axe if you got the bundle. TwinChargers #9 Posted June 30, 2008 If they had to make a GH for a classic established band, I'd have rather seen Guitar Hero "Van Halen".
Atari5200 #10 Posted June 30, 2008 (edited) I think this type of game is a gamble for the publisher. I like Aerosmith somewhat, but not enough to buy a game of nothing but or mostly Aerosmith and there's probably tons of people that feel the same way. I like the idea of band specific Guitar Heroes though, I have GHII for the 360 and it sucks, game play is great, but the list of songs in my opinion is terrible. I can't wait for GH Metallica. PressureCooker2600 #11 Posted June 30, 2008 Too bad they apparently dumbed down the difficulty....cause I been playing Guitar Hero since the beginning and I've loved every bit of it. I might get it. Where's the 80's edition part 2???? Or the Thrash Metal Edition????
PressureCooker2600 #12 Posted June 30, 2008 I can't wait for GH Metallica. As long as they have No Remorse and Anesthesia....I'll get it.
+DamonicFury #13 Posted June 30, 2008 (edited) Either I'm getting rusty (I've been playing more with the drums in Rock Band lately) or the Wii version of GH:A is actually a bit harder than GH3. I'm actually (temporarily) stuck on Sweet Emotion (Expert) ... it took me a lot longer to get stuck playing GH3 or Rock Band. The chart doesn't seem all that hard , so either they tightened the note window (at least for the Wii version), or I'm just more out of practice than I thought I was. :-) Besides the difficulty and the Aerosmith theme , it's pretty much GH3 all over again. UPDATE: Ok, it's not the difficulty... After browsing some GH forums, I found that there's an issue with the Wii version that requires you to set the video lag to +1ms. Once this is done, my skills are back to normal, and the game no longer seems harder than any of the other GH games. Whew! Ryanw #14 Posted June 30, 2008 If they had to make a GH for a classic established band, I'd have rather seen Guitar Hero "Van Halen" I would have definitely gotten that one, but Aerosmith... no thank you.
bdog_147 #15 Posted July 1, 2008 I played the 360 version at a friends house. I liked it. I might get it for the PS3.
