Did I break my NES?

Recommended Posts

I have 2 NES's, one i've had since it came out, and one that I got from a friend. The one I got from a friend is in better condition and works a lot better. I decided after hours of blowing in cartridges and turning the system on and off repeatedly that I would try to fix the system(the one I got from my friend)

I found a guide online about fixing the pins on the cartridge connector, so I tried. I could only fix the bottom set of pins. Then I disabled the lockout chip after reading many guides on it. I put the system all back together, but now it doesn't read games. It will read kirby, but only if i leave it in the system for 10 mins or so while the system is turned off. No other game works and I don't know what I did wrong.

Any ideas?

Have you cleaned your carts yet? A repaired or new connector isn't gonna do you much good if you don't clean your games.
