machf #1 Posted July 11, 2008 I've been scanning some old stuff, here's a 4-piece foldable brochure for the Atari 400 and 800, from 1981. I've touched up the scans a bit because I had made some holes in order to keep it in a binder, and in a couple of places some letters had been cut out by the holes. I also have an 8-page brochure for the Atari 400, from 1979. I'll scan that one next.
machf #2 Posted July 11, 2008 Here's that Atari 400 brochure I mentioned, I didn't touch up the scans this time because the holes aren't as bad as they were on the other one. I think I got this brochure even before I got my Atari 2600 VCS... around 1979 or early 1980 (same as the handheld brochures I uploaded elsewhere). I didn't get an actual Atari 8-bit computer until 1985 or 1986, though (my 800XL).
Rybags #3 Posted July 11, 2008 Nice. All I think I have is a single sheet promo brochure for the Amiga.
Bryan #4 Posted July 11, 2008 I've never seen that 410 recorder before.
oesii #5 Posted July 11, 2008 That's a serious looking 410. I bet you could lose a finger if you weren't careful. Cool scans.
NightSprinter #6 Posted July 12, 2008 I've never seen that 410 recorder before. I think it was the original model of the recorder. The ones you see on eBay are teh more common model.
spookt #7 Posted July 12, 2008 Is it the early Japan version with the cary handle ? Never seen one for real - all my 410s are the common ones.
Bryan #8 Posted July 12, 2008 Is it the early Japan version with the cary handle ? Never seen one for real - all my 410s are the common ones. No, I've owned 2 different variations of the Japanese 410. One had an internal supply and one used a brick. That 410 is different from any I've ever seen. I'm guessing it was a prototype hack of an existing cassette player and not a production model.

+hunmanik #10 Posted July 20, 2008 Very nice scans both, thanks! The 1981 one is also at Atarimania, at http://www.atarimania.com/det_cat.php?EDIT...ATALOGUE_ID=152 Despite Atarimania categorizing it under Atari (USA), it was clearly intended for non-USA markets, as it says "Atari International" right on the front. Hence also the weird part number P228. Your very early Atari 400 flyer is quite interesting. I've never seen it before, and it's also not on Atarimania. With the 1979 copyright date, the pre-shipped versions of the 400 and 410 pictured, and the particular set of software titles and peripherals mentioned, I surmise that the flyer was produced in the summer of 1979 for use at the Summer CES. Or if not then, for distribution along with the initial product shipments of fall 1979. Too many products are mentioned for it to have fit at the January 1979 CES, and not enough products for the January 1980 CES. Presumably a matching Atari 800 flyer was produced at the same time. Who has one???
