I call it "complete" (with the quotes) because it is missing PITS and the CGE 5th anniversary carts, which I may never see in the wild. Other than that, I have 'em all!

As you can see, there's not much that could be called "special" here. No protos, only items that can be purchased from dealers or Polish homebrew guys. I guess the one unique one would be the Epyx version of the Blue Lightning demo, on the green PCB with the large chip. Bruce from B&C told me that not many have survived from that lot.

I hope this doesn't come across as bragging, truthfully. I am just really proud of the collection. It's taken a lot of years and money to get here. And there is more I can do. I might end up buying boxed versions of the ones I only have cart/inst, and I might do like Eric and buy all variations. But for now, this is an accomplishment! :D

Here are some pictures:

I'll add more pics tomorrow. I'm hitting the upper limits of the size restriction for uploads and it's getting too late to continue fighting with it.

Cheers,

Smeg

Bragging... hell no! I think it is sweet to get to the point where you've been striving for! I don't blame you at all for sharing all of that. The Lode Runner is pretty sweet if you ask me! Do you have any screen shots by any chance. I don't think I've seen any of those yet.

The EPYX version of the Blue Lightning demo... did you get that about 1 year ago off of ebay? If so you beat me to it. I emailed Bruce and begged for another one... he said it was the last one. :(

I can see I need to make some additions to my list from using your list. I do have two slots reserved for the Space incident, because I got two different carts. But I think it is best to possibly just call it one game and label it as a homebrew and call it good. Otherwise I'd need to include the Video 61 version, the Poland guy version, etc etc.

Great collection man! I'm still working my way up there. BTW... I MAY have a few of the boxes you do not have. You want them if I have them? Just let me know. I don't need them. :)

Talk to you later... again... great collection man!

Here's what you do (if you have Windows): Go into MS Paint with your picture. Click on Image, then goto Stretch/Skew. In the stretch part (don't do anything in the skew part), 100% is the size that the picture is now. Since you want to reduce the picture size, you need to enter a smaller %age. I find that with pictures that big, IMO a better # to put in there is 20. See what happens and if you like it.

Thanks, everyone! I am very proud of this collection, to be sure. Especially because I had to recollect a dozen or so of the common, (er, crappier) titles. I once bought a Lynx system with 8 games off eBay for $55, and it had Ponx and Lexis included! Once I got the titles I needed, I decided to take the spare Lynx and make my own bundle, selling off the games I didn't like. Years later, when I decided to complete the collection, I kicked myself over my lack of foresight. :D

Actually, I missed the one and only auction MyAtari had, so I emailed him the next day, asking him if I could buy one from him. His reply was very curt. He was extremely angry and upset over how little it had sold for, and he said he was in the process of destroying the remaining copies. I immediately emailed him back and told him I would buy one for whatever pirce he wanted. He said $40, and I said SOLD. So, I kinda think I have one of only two left, but that might not be quite accurate.

I'd like to see your list as well, since you had a lot more than I do, but yours includes all the different cart variations, right?

Thanks! And yes, if you do have boxes for any of the ones I do not, I would gladly buy them from you. I don't need many... Awesome Golf, Batman, Blue Lightning, Checkered Flag, Cali Games, Hard Drivin, Lynx Casino and NFL Football.

Cheers,

Needs more boxes :D

Thats one hell of a collection. I can only guess as to how much money you've spent!

Congrats

Thanks! I'm not bad on the boxes, really only need 7. And I'm a bit anal-retentive, so I'll probably end up with those boxes someday. :D

I do shudder a bit at the potential cost of this collection, and truthfully, with a bit of work, I could probably come up with a fairly accurate estimate. ( I have an Excel spreadsheet with all the Lynx games, some have prices filled in, and I also have a spreadsheet for every, single eBay purchase. Remember, anal-retentive.) But a labour of love, to be sure!

Cheers,

Smeg

I'll check the boxes I have....

I got that same response actually from Myatari. I was heartbroken! LOL

Perhaps I should email him again.

My list has the cart styles on it as well. I'll merge yours and mine sometime soon... just to see what is different

VERY Nice! Where did you get the plastic folder parts to keep the games in? I need something like that for mine.

AX

That almost looks like baseball card sheets to me. I wonder if that is what it is. I didn't think an eprom cart would fit in one of those.

You hit it on the head! Actually, I bought most of these sheets, and the binder, from someone on eBay selling "Lynx cart holders" which turned out to be baseball card holders, but with a circle of Velcro on the top to keep the envelopes shut. Once I used all those up, I bought baseball card holders. They work perfectly, don't ya think?

Hey, thanks for the tip! Let's see if it works...

Sweet! Thanks for that! The above pic is an overview of my Lynx II and the two Lynx Binders. It's a pretty snazzy way to store Lynx carts, isn't it?

Hi everyone!

If any of you want to see closer views of the carts, here are shots of the individual pages.

And here are two more shots of the binders, closed and opened to the first page on both:

I guess that's enough pics. Thanks again for letting me indulge! :D

Those are some great pics! I think I've still got a ton of unused plastic baseball card holders, so I'll need to see if I can find those small velcro circles. Actually, they may not even be necessary.

I dont see the Yastuna 1 and Yastuna 2 titles.

You can get it at Nick Harlows 16/32 Webshop (little advertisement cause i made the box :-D )

Greatings Matthias

He's got those.

:)

He got the unboxed version, the same one that I bought before I bought the RED PCB version.

I believe he already has Yastuna 1... or it is on the way

Missing Tag, Push around the World, BattleSpace, Lynx Sketch and Stardreamer. Do these titles exist on cartridge?

Umm what are these?

If these are small demos from someone's attempt at a Lynx game, I don't think they count.

Lynx Sketch is on MegaPak vol 1 isn't it?

I don't think you can classify small works as releases, or you'll never be able to complete any collection for any system.

:)

I read about Tag here under 'Petit Jeu' and the other titles are from the 2003 Atari Lynx programming contest (winner was Push around the World, runner-up was BattleSpace). Stardreamer looks like an Elite game. I got the info from Atari Times 2004. I think you can buy the book from the Atari Times website? Shame no one can put these on cartridges.

Yeah... I can see some of them being cart releases. Others seem like just extras hidden within a game. Great stuff though.

I think Yastuna 1 and 2 are different stories.

I don't know if you can count say Rapide Racer if it is placed on a cart. Cool... but I don't think everyone needs that one to have a complete collection.

You HAVE to have stuff like Krazy Ace, Desert Strike, etc. The extras on that page... welll they are extras. :)

I'd say that any games given some sort of "official" release on cart should count towards a "complete" collection, whereas homebrews that someone dumped onto a cart without making a release available to the general public should not. There's definitely a few of those that have never been given a proper release, and therefore you can't really say any collector who doesn't have them on cart doesn't have a complete collection. Not that it really matters for anything, but still. You just know that someone would come along and say "You don't have XXXXXX on cart, so your collection isn't complete!". Just my thoughts...
