madhatter667 #1 Posted July 18, 2008 (edited) Hey guys, While I was out thrift hunting yesterday, I found a neat set of joysticks for the Atari 2600, or at least they look like 2600 sticks. They have 2 buttons on the stick, one trigger style, the other on top of the stick. They have a round base, and can wind the cable around them. I just got them, so no pics taken yet. I remember reading about them somewhere, but never seen them. Any idea how common, or uncommon these might be? I've never seen them before, let alone a set together. Got them for like $3 total. A.J. Franzman #4 Posted July 18, 2008 Sounds like either the Champ or the Tron stick (which was based on the Champ).

madhatter667 #8 Posted July 26, 2008 Neat, thanks for helping me identify these. I own many controllers, and I tend to like 3rd part ones over the stockers. I had heard of sticks like this in the past, but the first time i ever ran across them in the flash. Naturally, I bought them... like any other red-blooded Atari-fan. AJ_Maine_Man #9 Posted July 27, 2008 I found a Tac-2 Suncom Joystick today at a pawn shop I got it for $3 bucks. The guy had a Gemini 2600 in the box box was kinda beat missing one end and then some. Well i ask him "how much for the gemini" and he starts going on about how much he can get for it on EBAY and that he would let me have it for $65 bucks, Now this No teeth hillbilly is now lecturing me on EBAY,,,,, also From the last 3 times i have been there he gives me a different price on the Atari games 1st visit =$2 2nd visit=$1 3rd visit=$3 I had the Tac-2 and 3 games ,,flagcapture,Sorcerece apprentice, and Mega force,,, well after getting the EBAY lesson i told him forget the carts for 3 each,,,hell the labels were not that hot anyway. This is the last time I ever go to that store again . this redneck hillbilly I swear this guy looks like he is king of the trailer park ,,,,,,and he is all using ebay on me when giving me a price...... just give me the price and save the bull#$%$ ,,,,Im not saying he can't get more than i would pay for it on ebay but just the way the guy was all pumping it up made me sick,,,,,,he then told me how he got $185 bucks for some sealed mario 3 game. It was so much better when there was no ebay...............(ya I know all the sellers love it)
madhatter667 #10 Posted July 27, 2008 I don't think I would give you ten bucks for a sealed mario 3. That was like one of the best selling NES games made. Popular, but NOT rare. The Gemini would have been a cool snag. Shoot, I've looked for them off and on just for the "different" factor. Snapped up and ST1040F today complete for $40 and got a box of disks too. Fun times! I hate it when people go to ebay to price something, at least right in front of you. I think it would be ok to work out an average "going rate" rate price... but it would have to be an average of sold items, and even that should be negotiable. If you wanted to pay ebay prices, you would have simply gone to ebay, duh!

It was so much better when there was no ebay...............(ya I know all the sellers love it) There was a guy in my area who was the same way. He loved to pull the "ebay" card out. I'm like, if you can get that much for it on ebay, why don't you? What I loved was he had a huge box of 2600 carts for $5 each. He used to sells them for $2 when I first started coming to the store and I would buy a bunch at a time. He couldn't figure out why at $5 they were not selling. At $5 though, I still pulled out a few somewhat rare games. I think I ended up buying about 5 Pitfall II's from him over the years. The funny thing was he pulled out some "very rare" games and priced them $20. I can't remember them all, but one of them was Swordquest Earthworld. Even after I explained that Earthworld was very common and that Waterworld was the rare one, he still kept it in that case. Needless to say, the guy is out of business now.
