Help Identifying Game

I'm looking for a game that I saw in an arcade in ~1991 that was similar to Blasteroids. It supported at least 2 players simultaneous on a top-down space shooter, and in between levels you'd choose the next planet to visit. It was a raster game with horizontal monitor.

No, I don't think that's it... I'm pretty sure it was a raster game.

 

If it helps: I think the point was more to fend off waves of aliens, not asteroids...

You mean by saying it's like Blasteroids/Asteroids that it's having a static screen (no scrolling) and the spaceship you controll can move over the whole screen?

do you remeber what type of weapons there were and their behavior (like seeking missile and such)?

I can't think of any game in the Asteroids genre that fits your description.

The more I think about it, the more I think it must have been Blasteroids. I think I remember the changing-ships mechanic and the energy crystals thing.
