SegaShooters #1 Posted July 27, 2008 ...or shouldn't I ask? That's the only type of sports title that I own none of, or have played for the Genesis. If anyone knows of a decent Tennis game with good control would you let me know? Thanks.

A2600 #4 Posted July 28, 2008 Which one of the 2? Both are great, I like IMG more for the realism factor but to have fun and just play Capriati is great
CRV #5 Posted July 28, 2008 I like ATP Tour and Wimbledon (both dev'd by SIMS).
SegaShooters #6 Posted July 28, 2008 Thanks for the recommendations, i'll see if can get those cheap and take it from there. The only Tennis video game i've played has been 2600 Tennis which is actually still pretty good for its age.
+thegoldenband #7 Posted October 31, 2009 Resurrecting an old thread to ask: Is it just me, or is the AI in IMG International Tour Tennis completely borked? I've just won an entire tournament, 6-0 in every match, by just perching myself on the baseline and hitting lobs (with the A button). The computer opponent seems completely unable to handle this tactic, and often moves to the side and flails aimlessly in the air. I'd say that of every 10 lobs, it whiffs on six, hits two into the net, one out of bounds, and gets one back in play. When receiving serve, I don't even have to move; when serving, I just lob back the first return. This is on real hardware, by the way; I also tried the game in emulation (Generator), and got the same result. Other oddities in this game: - Occasionally I've hit a shot and the ballboy then catches the ball before it bounces twice -- and yet I win the point! It's not that my opponent's preceding shot was bad, the ballboy just...denies my opponent the opportunity to play my shot. It's very weird. - It seems like it might have issues with six-button controllers -- either that, or there's something wrong with my controller, but I'm guessing the former. If I depress the C button, about half the time it acts as though it's in a kind of erratic turbo mode. This doesn't seem to happen with any other games I have, and doesn't happen in emulation. The game also responds inconsistently to the Start button. - The list of players seems to be in totally random order, making it a headache to page through and find the player you want. Plus there's no way to page backwards, so if you miss the guy you want, it's like accidentally setting your alarm clock from 6:55 back to 6:00. - Rod Laver is portrayed as right-handed! That's sacrilege, to those of us who are tennis fans at least. It's a pity, because the game seems well put together otherwise, and the dynamics of play feel fairly realistic (much more so than most recent tennis games). But with a busted AI...
