I think the fact that MS filed a copyright claim with Youtube pretty much legitimizes it. I didn't get to see it unfortunately.

If I had an Infectus as needed for this, I'd be DOWNGRADING the dash, not upgrading.

Frankly, I'd rather they have their programmers work on more backwards compatibility than wasting time changing the dashboard around. Who really cares about the dashboard? It's just there to tie the console's features together anyways.

 

As far as I'm concerned, the whole thing is a plot to try to make the system look easier to use in an attempt to steal some of Nintendo's casual market.

Who really cares about the dashboard? It's just there to tie the console's features together anyways.

It's a system update, not just a dashboard update. I'm not actually aware of any "dashboard only" updates, they are all pretty much system updates first. Aside from the new dash, it's adding the netflix and the copy game to HDD feature's, It might have the fix for the "Status code: 80070005" error many people get trying to dl videos from xboxlive. Maybe it will even have updated backwards compatability.

 

Not really going to know for sure till it comes out.

Per MS, the new dash interface is going to be optional.
