mame cocktail table completed ...

Recommended Posts

i did it!

after talking and planning for so long, i finally finished my table: http://drop.io/fishtable

i am still looking for a list of all games that were playable in cocktail mode, and i haven't found a site specially dedicated to that ...

i'm specially for atari games that were able to switch the screen ... in this case ROM files that have the cabinet settings ...

anyone has an MA in romfiles and cocktail table games? ;)

Wow, you did an excellent job! I am jaelous like hell........... :D

well, save a search on ebay looking for arcade machines in your area .... and maybe also machines under 10 euros ... this is how i found mine ... the table was 7 euros plus 80 shipping ... a cheap siemens P4 1,8 Ghz for 35 euros incl shipping .... happ sticks for 40 euros incl shipping from usa, the arcade interface (usb, ready to go with all wirings) was 40 euros from china incl shipping ... the monitor is a 14" i got for 5 euros ... the speaker system with subwoofer and a remote (great to set the volume without having to open anything up) was 15 euros incl shipping ... and how do you say "dreiersteckdose" in english? that was 1 euro ...

a great table for less than 250 euros ...

the interface is mame ready, i just changed the keyboard setup so the 'p' key would also emulate the enter key. this way i can start the games without using any keyboard at all ... mame starts automaticaly and i can directly play with no keyboard hastle ... i dont think i need apause button

the system runs with TinyXP rev. 9 ... and is using an old 9GB drive i wasn't using anymore ...

and i still have the cables/connections for buttons 2 and 4 of each player ... maybe i can do something with that in the future ...

in case anyone wants to know where the parts were from:

http://search.ebay.de/_W0QQsassZhklwh123 <--- cheap but not the best quality. sticks are ok, buttons are not that great

http://stores.ebay.de/TORNADO-TERRYS-ARCADE-PARTS-SUPPLY <--- i'm using the happ buttons of this guy, very friendly seller

http://stores.ebay.de/Y-PLUS_arcade-access...3QQftidZ2QQtZkm <---- mame pc usb adapter, easy to install & works great!

http://computer.search.ebay.de/_PC-Systeme...QsassZdirektQ21 <--- many cheap PCs with P4 chip under 100 (that's only for the germans here)

Lovely. I'm working on my vertical cocktail table as well - almost got the PC done. The tool I used to generate lists is called RomLister - it can be a pain to get working, but it can limit to vertical oriented, number of buttons and joystick controls (and filter out mature games too).
