2600Lives #1 Posted August 4, 2008 Question, do the Sega Genesis controller extensions work for any of the standard 9-pin controllers? Since the Colecovision forces you to sit SO close to the system itself, some extensions would be a great idea. Anyone tried this?
doubledown #2 Posted August 4, 2008 As long as they are pinned complete (all 9 pins) and straight through pin for pin, they work fine. Any extensions made for the Genesis should work for any controller with a DB-9 connector.
2600Lives #3 Posted August 4, 2008 Cool. I've got a couple of extensions for the Genny, but none for any other systems, and the Colecovision controllers are REALLY short, so, sweet. I'll try it!
shadow460 #4 Posted August 4, 2008 I used a Sega extension when I modded a SMS gun for my 7800. I also use Sega extension cables with my wireless joystick receiver. I never heard of a game console forcing anyone to do anything. Hoes does the ColecoVision force one to do something...by holding a light gun to the owner's head? nathanallan #5 Posted August 4, 2008 Shouldn't any straight cabled serial port cable work?
