ATARIPITBULL #1 Posted August 4, 2008 I've been thinking about selling everything I have in one lump auction, plus the buyer must come with a big truck to pick it all up. I could only imagine how much shipping would cost for all of it. I'm talking boxed games, loose homebrews, posters, ads, store display's, boxed systems, boxed controllers, store kiosk, t-shirts, bags, jackets, mugs, boxed Atari 2800 system and 7 boxed games, game centers, the whole shabang. To see some pics, just go to the members photo section and look under Ataripitbull and keep in mind that those are old pictures and lots of new stuff have been added. anyone want to make me an offer? Crazy Climber #3 Posted August 4, 2008 I hope you are feeling OK, I remember the motto "ATARI TILL I DIE!!!!" being said by you before Seriously though if you are considering selling the entire collection your best bet would probably be JC at Atari2600.com, I have heard of him buying collections before. ATARIPITBULL #8 Posted August 4, 2008 All right I will tell you guy's the reason why and it has nothing to do with me being sick or anything else. the only thing I love just as much as my Atari collection is a mint conditioned muscle car like a Camaro!!, My parents bought me a brand new Z-28 when I turned 16 I had lots of fun with that baby. Now a dealer ship here in Michigan contacted me that they still have, in there show room, a 2002 red Camaro SS with 6 speed manual tranny, leather interior and only 2300 miles on it, this car was only used to take people for test drives and was never sold to anyone and now they want to sell it. That's it and if I don't get an offer any where close to what i've paid for all this stuff then its no sale and I keep my collection.

Absolutely gorgeous, and hauls ass. Gives my VR4 a run for its money, but keep it safely indoors for the (LOOOOONNNNG Michigan) winter! I agree... TOUGH decision! +Wonder007 #11 Posted August 5, 2008 Well, if you are serious, I would need to see an exact inventory to give you a fair offer. Something like the item and condition (1 to 10) would be great...if you have the prices, even better. The only problem I have is the issue of picking up the items....that would be tough for me. 98PaceCar #14 Posted August 5, 2008 If I thought I could get away with it, I'd swap you my 2002 SS with 475 hp for your collection! Not sure which of us would be getting the better deal, but I'm sure my girlfriend would LOVE me to bring in even more games!
Rick Weis #15 Posted August 5, 2008 That's it and if I don't get an offer any where close to what i've paid for all this stuff then its no sale and I keep my collection. i know a lot your items you did not get cheap, if you think you will get a close offer for everything, i think you are dreaming! unless Jose wants to help you out. (i would never pay close to full market value for a entire collection.) you could get close to what you paid for everything if you piece it out, but that will take many months of work. good luck! Rick Right now Joe from Atari2600.com is going over the whole thing and he is just waiting for a complete list off all my stuff then we will see what kind of price he comes up with, but time is the thing so I have to jump on this list right now. For anyone who sends me a PM or what ever, I will get back to you but just give me a little time.

ianoid #20 Posted August 6, 2008 Selling in bulk always merits some kind of discount. Selling stuff individually is very time intensive, and almost never results in a short term recouping of prices paid, esp. when I know many of your prices paid were premium, albeit for premium items. Good luck! I hope it goes to Jose. And if it doesn't, I hope Joe doesn't overpay. He has a business to run, y'know!
video game addict #21 Posted August 6, 2008 Parting it out is time consuming but it could be done. I'd think you could work in batches starting with the higher end items working down. Promo items, then rarer boxed games, then homebrews, etc. You would see the bulk of the money in a shorter amount of time. I've sold around $18-20K worth of my Atari collection in the past two & a half years. I still have a sizable collection, 500+ boxed games, lots of boxed accessories & random bits. To the average person I still have one hell of a collection, just no boxed Quadrun, Crazy Climber, Glib, X-man, Boing, Q*berts Qubes, TCM, Halloween etc,, You can still have a collection & the car too, but just play the higher end games via a cuttle cart or have repos made.
