cephallus #1 Posted August 7, 2008 Has anyone been able to get Syncterm to correctly announce itself as an ATASCII client on connect? I tried to connect to both Mousenet and Boot Factory and both BBS's identify me as an ASCII client no matter what I've tried. If I could get it to work, it looks great...it even has an 80-column "xep" mode. i haven't been able to get Bobterm to do 80 columns on the Atari800 emulator yet... Anyone? Sure, here ya go. It works very well on os x, except for the problem I mentioned with boards not recognizing it as an atascii client...

You need to set the "Screen Mode" setting for the BBS to one of the Atari ones. On top of the BBS entry, press F2, then change it to look like this: Name The Boot Factory (Atari) Address bfbbs.no-ip.com Connection Type Telnet TCP Port 23 Username Password <none> System Password <none> Screen Mode Atari Hide Status Line Yes Download Path /home/admin/ Upload Path /home/admin/ Log File Log Transfers Normal Log Telnet Cmds Normal Append Log File Yes Comm Rate Current ANSI Music BANSI Style Font Atari MouseNet settings: Name MouseNet (Atari) Address atari-bbs.kicks-ass.net Connection Type Telnet TCP Port 23 Username stephen hurd Password ******** System Password <none> Screen Mode Atari XEP80 Hide Status Line Yes Download Path /home/admin/ Upload Path /home/admin/ Log File Log Transfers Normal Log Telnet Cmds Normal Append Log File Yes Comm Rate Current ANSI Music BANSI Style Font Atari
