GreenDayRlz #1 Posted August 9, 2008 She brags about Donkey Kong and Pac Man for Atari 2600. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=512Jxwum4f0 I hate Idiots.....Especially baragging about Pac Man for any system........ And there`s no repect for women because when they "collect", EVERYTHING becomes RARE(Uberly Rare, at that)....
theking21083 #2 Posted August 9, 2008 That's funny, she got ripped off on a lot of those games. She also thinks that the Star Fox on the 2600 game has a connection with the SNES game. Apparently Frogger was made by Sega and then later Konami got ahold of it. Wow she actually found a copy of Donkey Kong for the 2600, I can't believe it. That's too funny man, good find. GreenDayRlz #3 Posted August 9, 2008 Anyday. I wish I could sell her a couple of games. I`d be rich! And she left the video up, but disabled comments because she got too many people dissing her collection. They diss it for a reason lol.

kirin jensen #5 Posted August 9, 2008 (edited) Hell, if I had a dollar for every person who thought they knew jack about video games (including me), I'd be a bazillionaire. She's female, reasonably attractive and digs video games. I, for one, would cut her a great deal of slack. DrLove0378 #6 Posted August 10, 2008 (edited) She got Super Mario RPG for only two dollars? Well, I got Chrono Trigger for only $2! Huzzah! Huzzah! I agree that MeruSama still has stuff to learn when it comes to gaming (she states in her one of her videos that the rattling inside some cartridges is a loose chip, which is nearly impossible because they're soldered in), but some of her other videos aren't half bad. Hell, I've been in the hobby for over 10 years, and I still have much to learn. I recently ran into some middle-aged antique shop owner who wanted $375 for his (unboxed) Vectrex, with a messed-up screen and a broken controller. Now THAT'S a n00b if I ever saw one. Who knows? 2600 Pac-Man may become rare someday, when we've gutted most of the Pac-Man carts in existence and converted them to other games. But who the hell cares? 2600 Pac-Man was a crappy game anyway. (And so was 2600 Donkey Kong.) I wouldn't say she's so much bragging about the uber-common games, as she is giving them a mention. I'm not saying all this just because she's attractive, or because I like girl gamers in general... Edited August 10, 2008 by DrLove0378
nathanallan #7 Posted August 10, 2008 I feel for her, but if I was to work in a game store in El Paso, I'd think they were all rarities, too. All the game sellers at the flea markets (save one or two) all think their games are rare and sell them at high prices. They'r ejust not *here* to be common, and I guess in her case, too, where she lives. Then you get the ultra rare item that noone knows a thing about and it goes for peanuts-- like I'm about to get, heh heh. Okay, no intention to hijack this thread. In the side I saw "The Greatest GameCube ever built," oh PLEASE people, go see that one!
Reaperman #8 Posted August 10, 2008 (edited) she's obviously just started collecting. Cutting down on her and other new folks are kind of why I thought this place was filled with nothing but jerks until recently. Honestly I avoided this place like the plague for years until I realized that I was too far gone to relate to 'normal' gamers anymore. or are we trying to keep people out of retrogaming to keep ebay prices down? nathanallan #9 Posted August 10, 2008 I invited her to come to the chuckwagon and here as well, and vintage-computer, to let her know that she's welcome to join the community and build up her collection and meet all of us nice people.
+Random Terrain #10 Posted August 10, 2008 You losers need to learn your shit. She knows everything there is to know about classic games. If she came here, you couldn't handle the extreme ass kicking you'd all receive.
kroogur #11 Posted August 10, 2008 Okay, no intention to hijack this thread. In the side I saw "The Greatest GameCube ever built," oh PLEASE people, go see that one! It was actually pretty funny! And as for the Girl she may come across as somewhat of a know it all but i think we all do that from time to time at some point in our lives, anyone into games should be encouraged to let that interest grow. Atarifever #12 Posted August 10, 2008 And as for the Girl she may come across as somewhat of a know it all but i think we all do that from time to time at some point in our lives, anyone into games should be encouraged to let that interest grow. I kind of agree. After seeing all those cursing AVGN copycats claiming that all 2600 games have "crap" graphics, I have a higher tolerance for any kid claiming to love 2600 games. Her biggest problem with the 2600 games is just a lack of knowledge about arcades. She's using a 2600 lable for her history of Frogger lesson, and seems to think she has found a copy of the original Donkey Kong.
godslabrat #13 Posted August 10, 2008 How likely is it that she's just playing dumb? Nowadays, too many people think it's fun to act retarded on the internet... which doesn't make them smart, just a different kind of dumb than they intend.
Emehr #14 Posted August 10, 2008 Her biggest problem (besides not using a tripod) was putting a video on YouTube before doing her homework. Other than that, she has an appreciation for classic games and seems pretty enthusiastic about them. And when is "BRAGGING" (why the caps?) a bad thing around here? I know I have a lot of stuff in my collection that may not be rare, but I'm damn proud to have it just because of how neat it is. Plus, when my friends come over, they're always way more excited to see Mega Man than Action 52... and come on, there's definitely a logic to that. homerwannabee #16 Posted August 10, 2008 I love the latest video she just put up. In it she feels up her breasts and competes with a male rabbit. Alas, she lives in Texas and so that is not a possibility. :_( :_( Sides she is a little too young for me anyways. But if I was close and went to the video game store I think I would do as you say and then say "Apparently these things are called gonads."
S1500 #19 Posted August 11, 2008 Rule #5332 of classic video game capitalism: Anything made before 1996 is considered "rare" on the assumed fact you can't buy them new in the stores anymore. this can be seen in just about any eBay action. "LOOSE ET ATARI 2400 [email protected]# RARE! [email protected]#" She disabled comments in the video, so she has covered her ears.
nathanallan #20 Posted August 11, 2008 She seems pretty well spoken, considering she's probably a 20-something, and i would welcome a self published magazine about gamer girls. Let them all have pink covers. And black and white on the inside
Rik #21 Posted August 11, 2008 (edited) I dont recall her saying the 2600 part of her collection are rare, mostly bragging about the other games as being rare. She talks so goddamn quick,i might have missed something, ill have to watch it again.Anyways she seems proud of her collection,i feel no need to cut her down.Maybe she doesnt exactly know the facts, but i somehow feel sorry for her EDIT,i mean i feel sorry for her cus people are cutting her down. ovalbugmann #22 Posted August 11, 2008 Didn't get to see em, looks like all her recent videos have been pulled.... - it says no longer available??? I haven't seen the videos but; So freakin' what! if she thinks commons are rare, any girl playing old video games (or any video games) is cool in that regard and should be praised - not cut down? - you dudes here that are bitching about it, and the thread starter, are acting like little geek gameboy kids fighting with your sisters. - "Na nana na na I know more about Atari than you do" or "You don't have shit that's rare" - grow-up! Be happy that any girl wants to play any videogame. Besides a videogame cartridge that is older than her is rightfully considered rare or vintage by her, think about it - she doesn't have the long history with Atari that we do. Atari is old and she is young, it's all new to her.
madhatter667 #23 Posted August 11, 2008 Not a bad start to a collection, though the only rare title in her stack would be Legend of Mana...as I think that rates an R5 on the lists that are out currently. Good game. The others aren't really rare, and some of them are horribly common. ANYTHING greatest hits is not rare for sure... that means that it sold enough to earn that status....meaning that there are a lot of them out there. I am not trying to be derisive, just stating what I have found. Rare, and in demand are not the same thing, and that is really the main point of my reply.
