MOVE IF NEEDED-GIRL "BRAGGING" ABOUT HER "COLLECTION"...

Recommended Posts

This bitching and booing about this girl is pretty silly though. Maybe you people should have commented to the video on youtube *politely* pointing out links to such places as the digital press online rarity guide, or perhaps a place where she could pick up a copy of Video Game Colector like J2games... a magazine that features a rarity guide in every issue.

You don't want to be a pirate? Captain Cranky Chris? Chris the Cranky Captain? Cranky ol' Cap'n Chris?

I would have gladly pointed her in the right direction but she locked the comments. I love to help people out in any way that I can. The initial reason that I commented was because of the lack of research on her part. I know it's just a YouTube video, but I would never make a video about something unless if I researched it and had a good grasp on what I was talking about. It's great that she is excited about her collection and classic games, just don't brag about it unless if you know what you are talking about. If I were to brag about paying $30 for a rare Super Mario Bros cart then I would expect people give me feedback on how that wasn't such a good deal.

...There's always the private message feature.. youtube has one which works similar to this one.

Also... researching things online isn't always as intuitive as it may seem. There's a lot of bullcrap to dig through.... like ads for crap for sell... especially the ads... ugh. I hate when I try to do something like look up auto info and all I can find is ads for retailers and crap pages. You have to know how to get good results. Know which words to search for, which phrases, which words to exclude.. and hell... even sometimes when I put words in for exclude, I still get crap that have the "excluded" words... at least searching for video game info isn't as bad as car info.

A game is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I found a Stadium Mud Buggies complete in box at a Vintage Stock for $0.99, sold it for around $400...to me it was worth $0.99 but to I'd guess the 100s of people who visited the store prior to me felt it wasn't worth that. No way to me was it worth $400, but someone felt it was to them.

Places like Game RapeChange do their part to inflate the value of some games...why anyone would pay $20 for Super Mario Bros 3 when on any given weekend you can probably find it at a garage sale for under $5 or on eBay for under $10.00...it's like antiques, book value Vs real life value. It's rare you ever get book value, unless it's truly rare, and most things aren't truly rare.

In my mind the worst thing for anyone to do is verbally rape the poor girl about her collection and/or knowledge of game collecting...she's learning, she'll evetually learn and over time she'll get it...we all started out as retards thinking we knew everything. What is the saying...alittle knowledge is a dangerous thing. Simple criticism is okay, but damn some took it to another level.

As for the girl herself...there's another saying...my eyes don't see a porn star, but my $%^* don't have eyes.

Not me. I still don't know what's rare. If I want to know, I look it up. That's what AtariAge and Google are for. :D

When I first heard and read some of the mean-assed comments on the video I actually sent her an email inviting her here and was nice about it. Never got a response, but that's fine. She knows about atariage and the chuckwagon. And gamer girls are always welcome to me. No perversion intended.

Yeah, well she probably saw this thread and realised there are just as many mean comments here as well, and that you'll get EVERYWHERE else on the net,if that is the case with her, tough bananas. She did however have an annoying "know it all" vibe to her.She reminded me of DARIA in beavis and butthead

You people are such perverts... And kind of creepy.

Thank you. ;) :P

Compared to the average retrogamer?

By and large, I think most retrogamers know what they are talking about. It's the imitators, wannabes and scammers that don't, and they deserve to be ragged on. Just like the cheerleaders to Meg, she lucky she made flag girl. <throws a hunk of meat> :P

LAWLZ.

One of the "rarities" in gaming, a chick, and guys cut her down and make fun of her.

She did say "some of them can be considered rare, some of them not. It depends on the area you live in."

Then when it came to the Atari games she just says "Here's just a handful of Atari games."

So I understood that comment to be as "Here are just a random handful of atari games. they are not rare or special." Because she did not say anything about them being rare or hard to find like the other items she spoke about.

And living in NM, I can say that there is definitely a lack of Atari games readily available. And when you do find them on Craig's list or at the flea market or garage sales - the people selling them think that they are made of gold and expect you to pay an outrageous amount for something that might not even work.

So, NM is in the same shape as El Paso, huh? I know what you mean. The sellers here charge top dollar for ALL games, especially Atari anything.

Remember, being a nerd is equal to a normal guy that is drunk in a bar who thinks a 1 is a 10. The difference is that the normal guy sobers up and regains his discernment, but the nerd will always think anything less than a 5 is a 10. It's God's way of making sure that nerds get pussy too.

Seriously? Are you folks movie idols or models? Are you dating stunningly gorgeous women? Or are you familiar with women only through games featuring computerized women?

I've dated stunning women. She's cute, she likes video games and on at least a few of her youtube bits, even shows a sense of humor. That's pretty neat as far as I'm concerned.

By the way: 1 to 10, how good looking is what you're dating now?
