11th hour game

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know how I can play 7th Guest or 11th Hour with a newer comp. I can't load it nor can I load either 7th guest or 11th hour. Basically what I find from the net is my computer is too fast and gives bull$hit links that my anti-virus software will not let me down-load. Does anyone have an idea on how to simply play my two favorite P.C. games of all time (11th guest is impossble so I actually hate it AND love it). Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Dosbox.

If you still have trouble then use MoSlo.

www.abandonia.com <----- i think that you can download them both here

a little complicated at first but once you figure it out its really easy to use.

I'm glad i kept my 386DX.That thing plays all the older games with no problems or hassle of having to download special programs,or all the configuring you have to do to make them run on newer pc's.Good 486's,386,s are harder to find as the years go by.If you do see one, grab it!!!!!.My 386 has a soundblaster ISA card,8 megs of ram,1 megabyte video card, and runs at 16 megahertz,33 in turbo mode, and runs with DOS 6.22,and Windows 3.11, those specs were more than good enough to run all the old dos games back then, and i still use it now.The 11th hr works fine on my 200 megahertz mmx pc i have

Did the dosbox and read the intructions put everything where it is supposed to go and.... still does not work at all! Any ideas on what I might have done wrong. I admit I am not a computer geek, but I can do the stuff it asks for and I can read. ANY help would be appreciated. I am almost tempted to BUY an old comp. just to play again.

Download DOSShell.

then, set it up.

make sure you have a folder in your c:\ drive that looks like this: c:\(whatever you named your folder)

then take the downloaded games and make them a folder, and put THAT folder inside of the one in c:\

Then go to dosshell, and do what in says in the picture below: edit->add new entry-> fill out forms and give location you put the game folder (which would be c:\-----\11th hour\executable.exe) (executable is the file that starts the program, the name would probably be something like 11th.exe, dont worry about the other ones)

Then you should have a path in dosshell which, when clicked, will load the game.

you may have to slow or speed up the game if its not running normal speed, which im pretty sure is f11 and f12, you might want to check the dosbox FAQ

picture below to help you, hope that they're clear enough.

if it still doesnt work, ill download the games later on at some point and document all the steps to get it to run, ok?

Yes,it will be ALOT LESS HEADACHES,depending on how many old pc's are still out there, its worth a tryto find one!My pentium 200 meghertz mmx, running windows 98 plays game just fine.It has 64 mb ram,32mb video card, soundblaster sound card,52x cd-rom.The basic requirements for 11hr the sequel to The 7th Guest are as follows,in case you dont have docs...WIN95 OR 98 MICROSOFT DOS 5.0.PC CPU-486DX2/66 REQUIRED MINIMUM,Pentium recommended,2x cd rom,memory-8MB ram.I play game in windows, runs like a charm.Your post inspired me to play this game.I bought it 2-3 years ago,and forgot all about it!I'm playing it now,one word..AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
